Chi Ling Lin
The beautiful actress and model Chi Ling Lin has lent her charm and freshness to Longines for several years.
Her perfect face has become one of Asia’s most famous in recent years. As a successful top model, she featured on the covers of international magazines. However for Chi Ling, inner beauty counts as much as physical qualities, and it is important for her to continue to learn and to grow. A graduate from the University of Toronto, the young Taiwanese icon is passionate about art and in particular sculpture. Chi Ling also devotes her time to causes she feels strongly about, such as the “World Vision AIDS Orphan Project”. Longines could not fail to succumb to Chi Ling’s charm. The young fashion model therefore became one of their Ambassadors of Elegance in 2005.
Omnipresent in fashion shows, Chi Ling was quickly caught up by show business. In addition to her modelling career, she became a popular television programme presenter, and one of the star presenters of ceremonies like "Golden Horse Awards", "Golden Melody Award" and many others. Audience numbers explode the moment she appears on the screen!
It was only a matter of time before Chi Ling would enter the world of cinema: asked by the legendary John Woo to play a role in his film “The battle of Red Cliff”, the top model made her film debut playing opposite Tony Leung, one of the most famous actors in Asia – a crowning moment for Chi Ling!
The multilingual Chi Ling - she speaks English, Chinese, Cantonese and Japanese - is not one to rest on her laurels. She is always ready to take on a new challenge, be it a Japanese TV love drama, “Moon Lovers”, starring opposite the ever popular Kimura Takuya, or a country girl in her third Chinese comedy film, “Welcome to Shama Town”.
Like Longines, Chi Ling Lin is known for her warm and charitable nature, and has continued to participate in many charitable causes over the years.
