On 13th and 14th December, 2008, Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aaron Kwok ended his "Aaron Kwok De Show Real Extension Live Concert" tour in the Taipei Arena, Taiwan. Kwok's performance was focused on the world-first 450º rotating concert stage, a spectacular device which was registered in the Guinness World Records in August. The two concerts – sponsored by Longines –encountered a great success. The Asian media described them as "the 2008 most successful and best selling concerts in Taiwan”.

Great performance for Markus Fuchs! For the second consecutive year, the Swiss horse rider has brilliantly won the Hunting Class with Granie 5 at the CSI-W Geneva. This success has opened him the doors of the "Défi des Champions" on Saturday 13th December, where the nine other qualified champions will compete for the title.

The Longines' family would like to congratulate its Ambassador Aksel Lund Svindal for his great come back to the top in Beaver Creek! With his double victory in the Downhill and the Super-G, and his third place in the Giant Slalom, Svindal overcame nerves and anxiety, a year after his accident on the Bird of Prey piste. This confirms that he has fully recovered after his terrible fall on the same course which forced him to miss the rest of the last season.

The 13th Grand Slam for Children Gala took place on 11 October 2008 in Las Vegas. It was organized by The Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation and is an annual event benefiting the Foundation. Millions are raised every year through ticket purchases and auction items. Longines has created a unique, one-of-a-kind The Longines Master Collection Retrograde in 18k rose gold set with diamonds especially for this auction. The numeral 8 on the dial is set with black diamonds symbolising Agassi's 8 Grand Slam victories. Paired with the Retrograde were four tickets to 2009 French Open Roland Garros. This package was auctioned off for a remarkable sum of US dollars 50'020.

The Longines Master Collection Retrograde has been awarded "Watch of the Year" by the Belgium watch magazine Passion des Montres. This yearly election is "the event" of the Belgium watchmaking world. The jury, composed of twelve renowned journalists specialized in watchmaking has the delicate mission to elect the most original and innovative watch. This year, The Longines Master Collection Retrograde has been unanimously elected by the jury and was crowned "Watch of the Year".

This weekend in Basel (Switzerland), the brilliant Swiss rider was crowned with the vice-champion title at the Championships of Switzerland, elite category. Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aaron Kwok enters Guiness World Records with his movable scene, the largest revolving stage ever created (10m x 9.44m or 32ft10 in 31ft)! This extraordinary device was used by the artist for the Aaron Kwok De Show Reel Extension Live Concert in Hong Kong in November 2007 and February 2008. The extraordinary apparatus will also follow Kwok in Macau, Foshan, Shanghai and Taiwan for the last concerts of the show.

The Longines Ambassadress of Elegance was wearing a unique Les Elégantes de Longines timepiece, a special model whose case has been embellished with two hearts set with Top Wesselton VVS diamonds. After a three-month injury break, the Swiss horserider Markus Fuchs will be back at the CSI Neuendorf (Switzerland) from 26th to 29th June. Since Easter, the Longines Ambassador hasn’t participated to any race and slipped to the 9th place in the world ranking. After a careful comeback in Neuendorf, he is planning to take part in the CSI in Estoril (Portugal), La Coruña (Spain) and Ascona (Switzerland) and in the CSIO Dublin (Ireland).

Aksel Lund Svindal will be present at the Kitzbühel races from 14th to 20th January … as a spectator. The Norwegian skier and reigning world champion is currently injured but he is hoping to leave this spectator role as soon as possible: “Last week, I have had great progress. I have started working out at the gym and it is going well. It is easier work out than I would normally do, but it feels good and I can do more and more every day. I will be at the races in Kitzbühel. I am looking forward to get there and meet my team and the other racers. I have some of my best friends in my team and on the World Cup. ”, the Longines ambassador said.
