Ski champion Aksel Lund Svindal visits the Longines factory

Saint-Imier, 10th October 2007 – For the very first time, the Swiss watch brand Longines has the pleasure to receive its new Ambassador of Elegance and Alpine Skier Aksel Lund Svindal in its premises in Saint-Imier.

The current Alpine Ski World Champion, the charismatic Aksel Lund Svindal, who signed with Longines at the beginning of the year, took a few days out after his training in Saas Fee to come and visit the factory of the brand he so proudly represents in Longines' latest advertising campaign.

Svindal was greeted and taken around the factory by Longines President, Walter von Känel, to visit the museum of watches and timekeeping as well as the assembly area, before choosing a GrandeVitesse and a HydroConquest watch from the new Longines Sport Collection to wear during this season's competitions.

At only 25 and already a national hero in Norway, Svindal also has an international following and is acclaimed for his prowess on the slopes and his open outgoing personality. Handsome, multilingual and highly articulate, Svindal is known for his nerves of steel and his irreproachable behaviour on and off the slopes. His ski technique is exceptional and he is one of the rare athletes to be truly polyvalent in Alpine Ski, enjoying success in all five disciplines. Both elegant in his performance and in his personal attitude, Svindal is for Longines a perfect choice for a sports Ambassador of Elegance.
