Longines Sport Collection Launch Event – Hong Kong

Hong Kong held its Longines Sport Collection Launch Event on 17th of October, 2007 at an exclusive private yacht club called Aberdeen Marina Club. The weather that day is sunny and warm which was just perfect for an outdoor event. That day more than 150 guests enjoyed the sunshine, food and cocktail and good view at the swimming pool side of the club house. Before the ceremony began, they gathered at the marquee, looking at the showcases of Longines Sport Collection and taking photos with 6 models dressed in different sport outfit.

The launch event put together the different sport dimensions – over the land and under water, which symbolized HydroConquest, Conquest and Grandevitesse. Mr Guido Benedini, the Head of Product Development for Longines, a member of the Longines management board, traveled from Switzerland to Hong Kong to host the ceremony. The Ambassador of Elegance, Mr Aaron Kwok came to endorse the event. The ceremony commenced in a very special and elegant way – with Mr Aaron Kwok and Mr Benedini riding on a yacht with two bikini girls, waving the Longines flags in their hands. Mr Aaron and Mr Benedini got aboard under the applause of the press and guests at the site.

Then, Mr Aaron Kwok, Mr Benedini and Miss Karen Au Yeung, Vice President – Sales & Marketing of Hong Kong were invited to host the unveiling ceremony for HydroConquest. By turning the yacht wheel statue together, the water lighting system turned on and a large visual of HydroConquest was unveiled on stage. To better present the philosophy of Longines Sport Collection - “There is no performance without elegance. Elegance is an attitude”, a synchronized swimming performance by 8 young ladies were arranged. They posed themselves in the water elegantly and swiftly, following the rhythm of the music. The audience are all deeply attracted by the show. At the end of the performance, one of the swimmer dived under the pool and got a treasure box, which was passed to Mr Benedini. It was a HydroConquest watch which was presented to Mr Aaron Kwok as a gift.

At the second part of the show, top model Rosemary leading 5 models dressed in different sport outfits – Tennis, Equestrian, Short Track, Gymnastics, Racing, wearing the corresponding HydroConquest, Conquest and GrandeVitesse on their hands and gave a catwalk performance on stage. The catwalk showed how the diverse Longines Sport Collection matched with different sport occasions.

Following the catwalk, Mr Aaron Kwok approached the venue again, this time in a yellow Lamborghini, which represents our GrandeVitesse Collection. Well known for his obsession with car, Aaron attracted the cameras of hundreds of media. Finally, Aaron, Mr Benedini and Karen hosted an unveiling ceremony for GrandeVitesse, by turning a giant key to switch on a big stop watch, which symbolized the timing function of GrandeVitesse.

The event was a big success and had attracted more than 150 media friends and retailers. This was the first of the kind outdoor press event held for Longines Hong Kong.
