Launch
of the Longines Sport Collection in Argentina
A subdued and really cool modern lounge bar atmosphere
in the specially transformed wing of the Renault Museum
in Buenos Aires was the backdrop chosen for the Argentinian
launch of the Longines Conquest and Longines HydroConquest
lines on 6 November last.
The retailers, media representatives and other brand
guests had plenty of time to discover the new models
during a cocktail party with snacks accompanied by the
subtle sounds of a passionate jazz saxonophonist and
a fascinating performance by a pair of excellent jugglers.
The watches were subsequently shown off on the wrists
of models during a fashion parade in the midst of the
guests.
The Argentinian market enthusiastically welcomed the
new collection, which combines a deliberately youthful
and active design with the elegance for which the brand
is famous.
A watch from the Longines HydroConquest collection was
then presented to José Meolans, Longines’ new
ambassador of elegance for Argentina. The 2002 world
swimming champion (50 m freestyle) and winner of gold,
silver and bronze medals at various international competitions
will also be competing at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
In addition, during the evening it was revealed that
this event also marked the start of the official partnership
between Longines and Innovatempo, the brand’s new
official agent for Agentina. Founded by Joyería
Testorelli 1887, Innovatempo was chosen by Longines
for its proven track-record, its serious approach, its
privileged relationship with leading players in the Argentinian
watchmaking sector, its long-standing collaboration with
Longines as a retailer and its 120 years of experience
and tradition.
