   23/06/2008 Markus Fuchs is back

After a three-month injury break, the Swiss horserider Markus Fuchs will be back at the CSI Neuendorf (Switzerland) from 26th to 29th June. Since Easter, the Longines Ambassador hasn’t participated to any race and slipped to the 9th place in the world ranking. After a careful comeback in Neuendorf, he is planning to take part in the CSI in Estoril (Portugal), La Coruña (Spain) and Ascona (Switzerland) and in the CSIO Dublin (Ireland).

   10/06/2008 Bronze medal for Olga Kapranova in Torino (Italy)

Longines Ambassadress Olga Kapranova (RUS) won the bronze medal in individuals at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Torino, Italy last week-end. The gold and the silver went to Evgenia Kanaeva (RUS) and the Ana Bessonova (UKR).

Russian Team was crowned with the European champion title at the European Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Lausanne (Switzerland). Germany won the silver medal and Romania the bronze medal.

Swiss horserider Jane Richard achieved a great result at the Jumping International Officiel de France in La Baule (France) last weekend. The Longines Ambassadress of Elegance, riding Kazop d'Ysieux, won the Prix du Ministère de l'Agriculture.

Skier Aksel Lund Svindal returns to the slopes with success at the Verbier High Five in Switzerland. The Longines Ambassador of Elegance won his first race after his accident in Beaver Creek last November. The Norwegian champion reached the finish line before Didier Cuche and Didier Defago.

Longines, the official timekeeper of the French Open of Roland Garros, will play the same role in the tennis video game Top Spin 3. The third edition of the Top Spin game will be released on 23rd May on PS3, Xbox, Wii and Nintendo DS.

   11/02/2008 Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan stars in “Jodhaa-Akbar”
Indian actress Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan stars in the historical film “Jodhaa-Akbar” to be released worldwide on February 15th, 2008. The film focuses on the romance between Hindu Queen Jodhabai, played by Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, and the Muslim Mughal Emperor Akbar.
   
   08/02/2008 Aaron Kwok nominated for the Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards
Aaron Kwok has been nominated this year again for the Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards with the film The Detective. The HKFA are the most prestigious film awards in Hong Kong. The ceremony will be held on April 13th, 2008 in Hong Kong.
   
   04/02/2008 Markus Fuchs enjoys Bordeaux
Markus Fuchs signed a double success at the Jumping International de Bordeaux. The Longines ambassador and world number one in the world won the Prix du Palais des Congrès de Bordeaux on Friday and the Prix Equidia 24 hours later riding Granie.
   
   28/01/2008 A school in the name of Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, accompanied by husband Abhishek and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, inaugurated a high school for girls in Barabanki district (India).
The school has been named after the Longines ambassadress.
   
   18/01/2008 Maryline Vorpe injured
Swiss rider Maryline Vorpe was seriously injured in a ski accident. The Longines ambassadress should be able to get back to competition in a few months. Longines’ President Walter von Känel and all the Longines staff wish Maryline a good recovery and are looking forward to seeing her back on the show grounds.
   
   16/01/2008 Aksel Lund Svindal named “Sportsman of the Year” in Norway
Aksel Lund Svindal has been awarded “Sportsman of the Year” in Norway. The vote was based on last year's performance, when the Longines ambassador won two World Championships and the overall World Cup in Alpine skiing.
   
   16/01/2008 Markus Fuchs record holder in Nations Cups
Markus Fuchs has competed in more Nations Cups than any other show jumping rider. So far he has represented Switzerland 141 times. The current number 1 in the world ranking has won seven Grand Prix last year.
   
  Chiling Lin to appear in “The Battle of Red Cliffs”
Taiwanese model and Longines ambassadress Chiling Lin will appear this year in a two-episode Chinese epic film based on the Battle of Red Cliffs and events during the Three Kingdoms period in Ancient China. The film is directed by John Woo and also stars Chang Chen, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Tony Leung Chiu Wai.
   
   15/01/2008 Aaron Kwok to star in De Show Reel Extension Live In Concert 2008
Longines ambassador Aaron Kwok will hold four concerts from February 14 to 17, 2008, at Asia World Expo in Hong Kong. This concert will be a sequel to his "De Show Reel" that met a great success last year. One highlight of the concert will be the rotating stage.
   
   14/01/2008 Aksel Lund Svindal back in Kitzbühel
Aksel Lund Svindal will be present at the Kitzbühel races from 14th to 20th January … as a spectator. The Norwegian skier and reigning world champion is currently injured but he is hoping to leave this spectator role as soon as possible: “Last week, I have had great progress. I have started working out at the gym and it is going well. It is easier work out than I would normally do, but it feels good and I can do more and more every day. I will be at the races in Kitzbühel. I am looking forward to get there and meet my team and the other racers. I have some of my best friends in my team and on the World Cup. ”, the Longines ambassador said.
   
  Longines Legend Diver watch awarded the Jury Special Prize by the prestigious La Revue des Montres
In the 9th year of the competition, the Longines Legend Diver watch was awarded the Jury Special Prize 2007 for Men's sports watches, by the prestigious French watch magazine La Revue des Montres magazine in Paris.  The jury was composed of leading French retailers, watchmaking enthusiasts and collectors, and journalists. The retro-look diving watch, based on a 1960s time piece, was the unanimous choice of the jury in this category. After his fall at Beaver Creek during a downhill training, Aksel Lund Svindal is currently out of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. Longines’ President Walter von Känel and all the Longines staff wish Aksel a quick recovery and are looking forward to seeing him back on his skis.

Swiss rider and number one worldwide, Markus Fuchs, riding Sylver II, won the “Prix En Châtillon - Grande Chasse” at the CSI-W Geneva. Another Longines Ambassador, Jane Richard, riding Kazop D'Ysieux, finished in fourth place.
   
   03/12/2007 Markus Fuchs back on the top of the world ranking
Following his great success at the CSI Kuala Lumpur, Markus Fuchs takes the lead in the world ranking of showjumping for the third time in his career. The Longines Ambassador of Elegance won five out of six of the competitions in Malaysia.
   
   29/10/2007 Aishwarya Rai to star in Pink Panther 2
Indian actress Aishwarya Rai is to play one of the detectives along with Alfred Molina. The pair joins forces with French police detective Jacques Clouseau, played by Steve Martin, to catch the thief who has been stealing artefacts around the world. Pink Panther 2 is set for a 13th February 2009 release.
   
   29/10/2007 Aaron Kwok nominated for the 44th Golden Horse Awards
Longines Chines ambassador for elegance, Aaron Kwok has been nominated in the "Best Leading Actor" category at the 44th Golden Horse Awards Chinese Language Film Competition. The Golden Horse Awards Ceremony will be held on 25th November 2007 in Taipei. Aaron Kwok already won the award in 2005 and 2006.

Longines ambassadress for elegance Carina Lau and actress Yan Bingyan shared the Best Actress of the Golden Rooster Awards. Carina Lau was honoured for her role in the 2006 film "Curiosity Kills the Cat".
   
   27/10/2007 Andre Agassi back on the court together with Steffi Graf to raise money for charity
Longines Ambassador of Elegance Andre Agassi played a double mixed together with his wife Steffi Graf in Mannheim (Germany). The two retired tennis stars lost 7-5, 6-2 to current world number 1 Justine Henin and the retired Goran Ivanisevic during the event organised by Steffi Graf to raise money for her charity “Children for Tomorrow”.

Actor Peter Lohmeyer, has been given the "City of Hof award" at the Hof International Film Festival (Germany). This Longines German Ambassador of Elegance is staring in two movies which were presented at this festival.
   
   26/10/2007 "Serge-Lang-Trophy" to Aksel Lund Svindal
Norwegian skier Aksel Lund Svindal, Longines new sports ambassador, has been designated best skier of the 2006/2007 season by the association of ski journalists (AIJS) and was awarded the "Serge Lang Trophy". Almost 80% of the journalists voted for the 2006/2007 FIS World Cup overall winner.
