Grand launch event of the Longines PrimaLuna Collection (Tokyo, Japan)

December 3, 2009

Under its renowned brand concept “Elegance is an attitude”, the Longines PrimaLuna Collection was launched at the Restaurant Peter in the Hotel Peninsula in Tokyo on the 3rd December 2009. The event was attended by Mr Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Head of International Marketing, and Ms Chi Ling Lin, Longines Ambassador of Elegance, representing the brand in Japan for the first time. The event granted the guests the opportunity to enjoy the essence of the contemporary, sophisticated elegance of Longines PrimaLuna.

To maximize the concept of Longines PrimaLuna and to impress the audience with the global advertising campaign image inspired by "a Thousand and One Nights", the ambiance of the gala dinner reflected these themes, adding a touch of the ancient Japanese era. The venue at the Peninsula was decorated to resemble the mysterious and romantic 1001 nights with a gorgeous night view of the imperial palace of Tokyo.

In the bar, guests could enjoy cocktails and discover the Longines PrimaLuna collection beautifully displayed with the view of Tokyo by night in the background. The Longines PrimaLuna film was screened to give the final touch of the collection’s atmosphere.

After the speech of Mr Capelli, followed by the Swiss ambassador Mr Paul Fivat and finally Mr Daniel Perel, President of the Swatch Group Japan K.K., the violin quartet DROP performed on stage to create a relaxing atmosphere. Longines ambassador Chi Ling Lin appeared to present the feminine, mysterious as well as oriental concept of the Longines PrimaLuna Collection, dressed in a bright red dress inspired by a Kimono designed by Taiwanese Fashion designer Mr Khieng Puong. Ms Lin impressed all the guests by delivering a part of her speech in Japanese.

Before the desert, two VIPs were introduced, Fashion Designer Mr Khieng Puong and Japanese tennis Player Mr Kei Nishikori.
As Ms Chi Ling Lin’s birthday was on 29th November, a special celebration was held: the violin quartet played a happy birthday song and Chi Ling received a beautiful bunch of flowers.
