In spring and summer of 2009 many dreams will be ignited: the Longines Tennis Children Tour of Dreams has commenced in China. With the help of the Chinese Tennis Association, Longines called on children with a love of tennis to come to the Longines Smash Corner to test and improve their serve. Set up in Beijing, the Longines Smash Corner will inspire compassion and care in Chengdu, and stir up tennis fever in Taiyuan and Wuxi, igniting dreams and propagating elegance.
The grand event was launched in Shanghai on 13 May. The most talented tennis children around the country gathered in this city of dreams to receive the ultimate training at the Longines Tennis Children Training Camp . Longines enlisted the help of prominent Chinese tennis coaches to design the best training programmes for the
young players. Dennis Li, Brand Manager of Longines China, said, ‘We hope to create a good opportunity for children with a love of tennis to receive training and exchange ideas through the Longines Tennis Children Tour of Dreams. We hope they can develop their talents and actively pursue their dreams. Lastly, we hope that the children and more people will experience Longines’ core value of elegance, which comes from inner wisdom and virtue.’
Longines Ambassador of Elegance Lin Chi-Ling came to Shanghai as the special ribbon-cutting guest for the opening of Longines’ two showrooms at Xujiahui Pacific Department and Huaihai Road Pakson, while also offering gracious support to the Longines Tennis Children Tour of Dreams. Dressed in sporty and elegant attire, Lin Chi-Ling visited the Longines Smash Corner, inspiring dreams among the young players, and experiencing the elegant charm of tennis. ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ of Longines Tennis Children Tour of Dreams, 11-year-old Yu Qingyang (boy) and Gaoding Yijia (girl) were also presented to the public. They were recommended by the Chinese Tennis Association and are blessed with exceptional talents in terms of tennis skill, potential for development and overall qualities. The two ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ will go to Roland Garros in June thanks to Longines’ invitation to play tennis with Andre Agassi and Stephie Graf, and will no doubt benefit from a bit of training from the two champions, igniting their dreams on court!
