Longines “Head for French open, Discover Tomorrow’s Champion” press conference (Taiwan, Taiwan)

Longines, as a brand of elegance, has always maintain a strong correlation with tennis. Being the official partner of the legendary French Open: Roland Garros since 2007, the brand has put great efforts supporting Tennis from countries all over the world.
With Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf as Longines global Ambassadors of Elegance, contributions of tennis have devoted to society. Longines attempts to hold tennis campaigns and recruitment to encourage young kids playing tennis.
Ever since ”Discover Tomorrow’s Champion” event was first launched and received great feedback last year. This year, Longines cooperates with Stans Foundation and Integration Sports, which are two of the most influential associations with surpassing commitment in tennis, to hold this campaign called, “Project Hope: head for French open, Discover Tomorrow’s Champion” to recruit girls from age 10 to 12 to compete for this unique chance, participating a tennis showdown with well-known tennis legends during Rolland Garros.
All candidates went through a online vote for over a month and a tennis tournament on May 1st, finally an official interview and press conference were held on May 6th in Minhsin University of Science and Technology, Hsinchu. There are five candidates entered the final competition, the first run interview is judged base on candidates’ resume and verbal expression, followed a 90 second quiz in the second run in public. The winner this year is Tzu-Hui Chen at 12 year-old, who will represented as Taiwan to join ” Discover Tomorrow’s Champion.”
The event invited Longines Ambassador of Elegance--Chi Ling Lin, and Tsung Hua Yang joined us for Discover Tomorrow’s Champion Press Conference as judges of player’s interview. There attendance encouraged all candidates, Tsung Hua Yang also can be represented as a role model in tennis who can lucratively inspires young tennis players and fans to be more savvy about choosing tennis as a favorable athletic activity of theirs.
Longines Vice President- Erica Chang and CEO of Stan Foundation- Hsuan Lin Shih encourage all candidates to be confident about themselves, and to have the spirit to give back to the society. Meanwhile, 2009 Longines Head for French Open Recruitment Champion, Yuen Hsiao also participated as “Discover Tomorrow’s Champion” event ambassador to share her precious and unforgettable experience in 2009 French Open to encourage these future stars keeping chasing their dream.
The winner, Tzu-Hui Chen from Chia-Yi county, was honored by receiving the award from Ambassador of Elegance -Chi Ling Lin, Tsung Hua Yang, and vice president of Longines Taiwan -Erica Chang. After that, Tsung Hua Yang presented Chi Ling Lin a tennis racket as a gift to encourage her start learning an elegant sport like tennis, showing her a few professional poses which brought another highlight of this event.
Finally, Longines donated two watches with signatures of Ambassador of Elegance, Chi Ling Lin and Tsung Hua Yang. The two watches will go on Yahoo Auction between May 10th~19th to stimulates the consumers competitive tender. All the foundings will be donated to Stans Foundation for”Hope Project.”
Longines has been long considered as this elegance brand with immense devotion on charity and tennis sponsorships. This year, by initial Project Hope: Head for French Open, Discover Tomorrow’s Champion with Stans Foundation and Integration Sports. The mission is not only to select a kid to French Open, but also to aimed to grow tennis as a practical lecture activity and help cultivate more potential future tennis stars in Taiwan. “Discover Tomorrow’s Champion” is proclaimed as a pilot in this multiplex project. The follow-up events will contain “Longines Discover Tomorrow’s Champion Tennis Camp ” for kids who can’t get the change to head for French open with Longines but be potential and passionate to tennis.
