Longines Saint-Imier Collection Release and “Searching for the Oldest Longines in Taiwan” Event (Taiwan, Taiwan)
On August 13th, 2012, Longines Taiwan held a press conference to announce Longines Saint-Imier Collection launch and kick-off the “Searching for the Oldest Longines in Taiwan” Event.
With Longines Ambassador of Elegance, Aaron Kwok’s appearance, the event of Longines Saint-Imier Collection Launch and the “Searching the Oldest Longines in Taiwan” kick-off successfully attracted more attention from the press and general public. In addition, both Mr. Claude Jaunin, Longines Regional Sales Manager Asia Pacific and Mr. Peter Szabo, the Country Manager of Swatch Group Taiwan Branch attended the event to further emphasize the importance of the Longines Saint-Imier Collection Launch and as well as the kick off of the “Searching the Oldest Longines in Taiwan” event.
To commemorate Longines’ 180th years of watch making tradition, the event was held in a historically significant building with Longines Saint-Imier collection watches exhibition. The Longines Saint-Imier Collection campaign featuring Aaron Kwok and a horse has been popular in Taiwan. Thus, to resonate the Longines Saint-Imier campaign imagery, Aaron Kwok made a grand entrance on a horse carriage. Aaron’s elegance and grandiose presence successfully caught the eyes of the public and the media.
Mr. Claude Jaunin, Longines Regional Sales Manager Asia Pacific and Erica Chang, Vice President of Longines Taiwan jointly expressed that upon celebrating Longines’ 180th anniversary, the Longines Saint-Imier collection is a significant collection to commemorate the brand because it is named after the Saint-Imier village, where Longines first began.
Taiwan’s watch industry is maturing to a stage where consumers are more knowledgeable. Mr. Jaunin further mentions, through Searching for the Oldest Longines watch in Taiwan, we are seeking and discovering the love of Taiwanese people for Longines and for elegance. This beautiful sentiment is the most precious treasure.
During the press conference, as a performance to portray the release of the Longines Saint-Imier Collection, a model show was designed. The models were dressed in retro-glam styled clothing and headgears, displaying the brand’s elegance as well as its long-standing history.
Further, to announce the beginning of searching for the oldest Longines watch in Taiwan, a special designed Longines timeless treasure box was opened by Longines ambassador of elegance, Aaron Kwok together with Claude Jaunin, Longines Regional Sales Manager Asia Pacific, Erica Chang, Vice President of Longines Taiwan, and Peter Szabo, Country Manager of Swatch Group Taiwan Branch. The opened box revealed a Longines gold pocket watch along with photos of Longines’ historical memories within.
The “searching the oldest Longines in Taiwan” event aims to track the footprints Longines has left in Taiwan, revealing a beautiful time in which Longines and Taiwan both share. And as the brand ambassador, Aaron Kwok shared a fond memory between him and his father, with which he referred to as the most beautiful time in his memory. This story places emphasis on a passing of legacy, time and love, which echoes the very mission of the competition.
