Belmont Stakes (Belmont Park, United States of America)
Longines, the internationally renowned Swiss watch brand and Official Watch and Timekeeper of the Belmont Stakes culminated its roles as Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Triple Crown after clocking "The Test of Champions" at Belmont Park on Saturday, June 8. Owner Cot Campbell, Trainer Todd A. Pletcher and Jockey Mike E. Smith received timepieces from The Longines Saint-Imier Collection in the winner's circle after an exciting finish.
Longines was prominently positioned throughout Belmont Park serving as the Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Belmont Stakes and presenting partner of the "Longines Just a Game" race with a large chronometer at the finish line. Additionally, the brand selected the Longines Most Elegant Women at Belmont to feature on the jumbotron throughout the day. To highlight its partnership, the watchmaker also had a digital "Longines Belmont Stakes Countdown Clock" on the official Belmont Stakes website, www.belmontstakes.com.
The Elegant Women at Belmont were highlighted by Longines to celebrate the iconic style associated with the Triple Crown. Charles Villoz, Vice President Sales for Longines and Jennifer Judkins, U.S. Brand Manager for Longines assisted in the selection based on their experience honoring elegant women at the most prestigious equestrian events around the world including The Royal Ascot, Prix de Diane Longines and the Dubai World Cup.
Longines has a long history of timekeeping in equestrian sports. The brand's Triple Crown connection confirms Longines' commitment to heritage, elegance and sport.
