About the Longines Handicap de las Americas 2013
Inaugurated in 1943, the Las Américas racecourse soon became a popular meeting place in Mexico City and quickly saw success. Since major renovation work in 2000 the racecourse now offers modern, high-quality facilities to the 20,000 spectators it can hold. The racing calendar includes the prestigious Longines Handicap de Las Américas – the most keenly awaited race in all of Latin America, run over 1 3/16 miles (around 1910 m) – as well as the Gran Premio Longines.
