The Hampton Classic (Bridgehampton, United States of America)-
Longines, the internationally renowned Swiss watch brand and Official Watch and Timekeeper of the Hampton Classic Horse Show, presented top riders with elegant timepieces for the 38th year of world-class equestrian competition in Bridgehampton, NY, August 25 – September 1.
Longines has a long history of providing its skilled timekeeping services to top-level international series and competitions. The brand joined the Hampton Classic as title partner of the Classic’s Saturday afternoon Grand Prix, the $40,000 Longines Cup and presenting partner of Friday afternoon’s $50,000 Spy Coast Farm/Young Horse Show Series Grand Prix Qualifier. Longines’ partnership also included the initiation of the new Longines Rider Challenge which awarded $30,000 to the rider who accumulated the most points in the horse show’s Open Jumper division.
Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President and Head of International Marketing for Longines and Jennifer Judkins, U.S. Brand Manager for Longines awarded elegant Longines timepieces to Richie Moloney, winner of the Longines Rider Challenge and Longines Cup and Kent Farrington, winner of the Grand Prix.
On Saturday, Longines also recognized The Today Show correspondent and animal enthusiast Jill Rappaport for showing a similar passion for equestrian sports with her philanthropic efforts benefitting the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Longines presented Rappaport with a donation for the ASPCA in the winner’s circle following the watch presentation for the Longines Cup.
Earlier this year, Longines entered into a long-term partnership with the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) that involves a number of major rights packages and official timekeeper designations. A key element of its partnership with the FEI is a significant investment by Longines in the development of cutting-edge timekeeping and data-handling services, specifically for equestrian sport. The development of these services will be for multimedia applications, giant screens, scoreboards, and for broadcasters as part of the presentation of FEI events around the world.
