Heritage Collection
Heritage Collection: the quintessence of classicism in watchmaking
For over 175 years Longines has been the heir of a watchmaking tradition that was forged in the furnace of elegance and precision. Over the years the brand has played an important role instilling classical beauty in watchmaking with regard to both pocket watches and wristwatches. By virtue of this rich watchmaking heritage Longines has created a line of watches called the Heritage Collection. This collections pays tribute to the historical creations that have an aesthetic quality which has since become classical and essential. While some timepieces remain as evidence of a production that more or less excluded the wristwatch until the end of the 19th century, the Heritage Collection contains principally models intended to be worn on the wrist. The Elégantes de Longines line, inspired by the Art Deco movement that was characteristic of the 1920s and 1930s, pays a subtle tribute to the elegance of ladies’ watches. The Présence Heritage line focuses on the classicism of the pocket watch that has been adapted – with just a touch of nostalgia – to be worn on the wrist. The Conquest Heritage, Silver Arrow and Flagship Heritage lines offer models that celebrate the golden age of traditional mechanical wristwatches, a period when Longines competed to set certain stylistic standards with regard to timepieces.
