FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Men - Kitzbühel 2019

As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the FIS, Longines was proud to provide its timekeeping expertise to the Hahnenkamm races in Kitzbühel this weekend, and to time the great victories of Dominik Paris (ITA) in the Downhill, Noël Clément (FRA) in the Slalom and Josef Ferstl (GER) in the Super G races.

Besides, the brand lent its support ot the Kitz-Charity Trophy, a race where professionnel skiers compete against celebrities on a section of the Streif piste, to the benefit of farming families in North, East and South Tyrol.

Longines Hahnenhkamm Future Champions
The Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to lend its name to the Longines Future Hahnenkamm Champions race organized by the Kitzbühel Ski-Club in the context of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. Made up of three girls and three boys, nine team from seven different countries (Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Liechtenstein, Slovenia and Switzerland) took part in this international event, which included a giant slalom and a slalom race on the same day. Team Austria 1 claimed the victory – ahead of Team Germany, second and Team Tirol, third – and were presented with elegant Longines timepieces.

The legendary Lauberhorn race in Wengen is the oldest and perhaps the most difficult of the classic races to win. The Longines Family welcomes Swiss Alpine skier Marco Odermatt as its new member

The Longines Family continues to grow with the entry of the Swiss Alpine skier Marco Odermatt. The young athlete from Canton Nidwald, born on 8 October 1997, notably won five gold medals in the Alpine Combined, Downhill, Super-G, Giant Slalom and Team Event at the 2018 FIS Junior World Ski Championships in Davos, Switzerland. This impressive performance, together with the two medals he claimed in the 2016 event (gold in Giant Slalom and bronze in Super-G), made him become the second most successful male junior in history.%break%Having made his World Cup debut in 2016, Odermatt has a promising future ahead of him, as he already achieved three Top-10 this season, in Giant Slalom (Val d’Isère and Adelboden) and Super G (Bormio).

This new collaboration echoes Longines’ long lasting involvement in alpine skiing, as Official Partner and Timekeeper of the FIS. By welcoming Marco Odermatt in the prestigious Longines Family, the winged hourglass brand strengthens its support to the champions of tomorrow.

Swiss siblings Mélanie and Loïc Meillard officially join the Longines Family

Swiss watch brand Longines is proud to officially welcome ski racers and Swiss siblings Mélanie and Loïc Meillard in its Family. The athletes were notably awarded this year the Longines Rising Ski Stars Prize as the best female skier (under 21) and the best male skier (under 23) of the 2017/2018 World Cup season respectively.

Despite a knee injury, which has kept her off the slopes since February 2018, Mélanie Meillard had an outstanding 2017/2018 season, with a third place in the City Event in Oslo (Norway), and placed ten times in the top-10 during the World Cup. During the last season, triple Junior World Champion Loïc Meillard finished amongst the 10 best skiers in seven of his World Cup races. In the current season, he achieved his two best results in World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, as he stepped onto the second step of podium, both in slalom and giant slalom.
