The Longines Prize for Precision: the recognition of excellence
The sport of Archery represents the values cherished by Longines – Tradition, Elegance and Performance. To succeed, the athletes must master bow and arrow through concentration, balance, and accuracy. The Swiss watch brand is thus proud to serve as the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the Archery World Cup season since 2008. The tour started in April in Shanghai, China then visited Antalya, Turkey and Salt Lake City, USA. At the fourth and last stage of the Archery World Cup in Berlin, Germany, 32 elite athletes earner their tickets to the Samsun 2018 Archery World Cup Final.
To round off the Archery World Cup season, Longines presented the Longines Prize for Precision on Sunday 30, following the recurve final. Female athlete Hye Jin Chang and male athlete Woo Seok Lee, both from South Korea, were the most precise archers of the 2018 World Cup in their respective category. Having scored the most “10 rings” during the qualifications and the tournaments of the season, they received each a Longines Prize for Precision-trophy, a Longines watch and a cheque.
In Samsun, the Official Watch of the event was a Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” model featuring a silver dial. This timepiece is equipped with an exclusive movement renowned for its high degree of precision (± 5 seconds/year) and its ability to reset its hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field. These attractive features are completed by a very long battery life and a perpetual calendar.
