Longines FEI European Championships

As part of its long-lasting commitment to equestrian sports, the Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to take part in the Longines FEI European Championships 2019, held from 19 to 25 August in Rotterdam (NL). As per the previous edition held in Gothenburg (SE) in 2017, Longines was honoured to be the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of this year’s event, bringing together the best European riders and horses in the disciplines of Jumping, Dressage and Para-Dressage.

The brand was pleased to grant the winners in the different disciplines with elegant timepieces as a reward for their remarkable performances. Among these great achievements, Longines Ambassador of Elegance, Sönke Rothenberger, and the German team captured the victory in the Longines FEI Dressage European Championship on Tuesday. On Friday, the Belgian Show Jumping team won the gold medal in the Longines FEI Jumping European Championship. Longines also celebrated the victory of Isabell Werth in the Dressage Grand Prix Freestyle, as well as the win of team Netherlands in the Para-Dressage team competitions, on Saturday. The following day, Swiss rider Martin Fuchs took brilliant victory in the Individual Jumping competition, and received an elegant watch from the hands of Longines Ambassador of Elegance and sport’s legend, Stefanie Graf, invited by the brand on that special occasion.

On Saturday, Longines and the FEI were also delighted to host Sönke Rothenberger, as well as elegant riders Matt Harnacke, Anne Meulendijks, Lotte Meulendijks, This Esme and Olivia Towers for a Meet & Greet in the Longines Boutique located at the venue.

During this thrilling week of competitions, Longines was pleased to highlight the Official Watch of the event, a blue model from the HydroConquest collection. Highly technical and innovative ceramic has been added to the bezel of the new HydroConquest models. Available in grey, black or blue, this scratch-resistant insert matches the colour of the dial, ties together the fully modernized design and sporty silhouette of this collection.

Longines Deauville Classic

The national anthem of the United States marked the conclusion of the Longines Deauville Classic, as US rider Margie Goldstein-Engle emerged victorious in the Grand Prix CSI 3* Longines de la Région Normandie with her gelding Dicas. Goldstein-Engle defeated France’s Jérome Hurel on As de Mai and Belgium’s Celine Schoonbroodt-de-Azedevo on Cheppetta, who finished second and third respectively.

As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines Deauville Classic, the Swiss watch brand was proud to present Margie Goldstein-Engle with an elegant timepiece from the hands of Longines France’s Brand Manager, Frédéric Bondoux.

The fifteenth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour, of which Longines is the Title Partner and the Official Timekeeper, ended this Sunday in Valkenswaard. The weekend’s highlight trial, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Valkenswaard, was marked by the victory of Maikel van der Vleuten on Dana Blue. Longines was delighted to present him with an elegant timepiece to celebrate his great performance.  

This weekend of intense competition was the perfect occasion for Longines to present the Official Watch of the event, a model from the iconic HydroConquest collection, which combines technical excellence and traditional excellence, both distinguished hallmarks of the brand. The seventh and final leg of Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ concluded with the impressive win of Team Great Britain, thus securing their ticket to the Finals in Barcelona in October. Team Italy finished second, while Team Ireland gave the home crowd a podium to celebrate by winning the bronze medal. Riding the talented 10-year-old gelding Explosion W, Ben Maher from Great Britain claimed the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of London today in front of a home crowd. Maher was followed by two Irish fellow riders, Shane Sweetnam on Alejandro, who claimed the second place, and Darragh Kenny on Classic Dream, who completed the podium. As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the series, Longines was proud to great the winner with an elegant timepiece.
