Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Western European League - Casa Novas - Winter Festival

On 9 December 2018, Australia’s rider Edwina Tops-Alexander on Vinchester finished first at the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup competition in La Coruña, of which Longines is the Official Partner, Timekeeper and Watch. The Australian rider, who already won the same leg last year, was followed by Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano on Chalou and Ludger Beerbaum (GER) on Cool Feeling. This international show jumping event also hosted the Longines Grand Prix on Saturday night. On this occasion, Belgium’s Gudrun Patteet on Sea Coast Pebbles Z finished first ahead of compatriot Dominique Hendrickx on Kannabis van de Bucxtale and Spanish rider Gerardo Menendez Mieres on Costello DC. The winners of those two top-level show jumping competitions were granted an elegant Longines timepiece as a reward for their great win.

Edwina Tops-Alexander and California win the crowning event of the Longines Masters of Paris

After four days of breathtaking events, the Longines Masters of Paris drew to a close today with the incredible victory of Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander on California. They were joined on the podium by Italian rider Alberto Zorzi and Contanga 3, followed by Ireland’s Denis Lynch and The Sinner. The internationally renowned event, which took place at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, also saw the triumph of Kevin Staut and Ayade de Septon et HDC on home soil at the Longines Speed Challenge held on Friday. Compatriots Julien Epaillard on Safari d’Auge and Simon Delestre on Chadino took the second and third place, respectively. Longines was also delighted to take part in the Riders Masters Cup as a Founding Partner. On Saturday evening, this innovative showjumping competition pitted the world’s top two equestrian powers – the United States and Europe – against each other in a novel format of duels. As a result of the trial, Europe came out on top and won the title. The return trial will take place at the New York Longines Masters on 27 April 2019.

In addition, the Swiss watch brand also supported JustWorld International, through the "Longines Clear the Jump" activity that took place at the Longines Grand Prix. On this occasion, 200 meals were offered each time the Longines jumps were cleared. Thanks to this action, Longines helped give 5,000 meals to the beneficiaries of JustWorld International's actions. Since the beginning of the partnership, donations from Longines have funded more than 265,000 meals for some of the most vulnerable children in the world.

During the Paris Longines Masters, the winged hourglass brand was delighted to present the Conquest V.H.P. GMT Flash Setting as the Official Watch of the event. Sporty and elegant, this watch is a must-have for travel lovers, as it allows them to easily change time zones either manually, following watchmaking tradition, or by using the smart “Flash Setting” system that sets the watch using flash pulses from a smartphone. This timepiece revolutionises both watchmaking precision and the user experience, expanding Longines’ Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” family, following the three-handed and chronograph versions.

The piece is the perfect companion for continuing the Longines Masters adventure, which will head to Hong Kong on 15-17 February before coming to a fantastic close in New York on 25-28 April 2019. The 2018-2019 season is shaping up to be a thrilling affair!
