Victory for Brenton Avdulla on Estijaab at the 62nd run of the Longines Golden Slipper
The Swiss watch brand Longines celebrated its third year as Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the Golden Slipper at the 62nd run of the prestigious race known as the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of the Rosehill Carnival. In front of an impressive crowd at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, the winning owner, trainer and jockey were presented with elegant Longines watches from the hands of Longines Australia representative.
The not-to-be-missed event also featured four other Group 1 races, The George Ryder Stakes, The Ranvet Stakes, The Galaxy & The Rosehill Guineas, marking this as one of the best race days for the year.
Longines Golden Slipper Carnival ambassador Kyly Clarke also attended the race day alongside Australia favourite Milliner Nerida Winter and had a hand in shortlisting the finalists for The Longines Prize for Elegance competition as part of the Australian Turf Club’s ‘Fashion Chute’ competition.
On her experience in being a first time judge, Longines Golden Slipper Carnival ambassador Kyly Clarke commented: “it was an amazing experience for me to be able to nominate and present The Longines Prize for Elegance to a well-deserved winner”.
Clarke presented Tanya Lazarou, the winner of The Longines Prize for Elegance, a beautiful Longines timepiece echoing the elegance of this event and her highly distinguished outfit.
The Longines Golden Slipper was the perfect occasion to discover The Longines Master Collection, the Official Watch of the event. Made from elegant steel and 18 Karat Rose Gold, the timepiece fitted with self-winding movement and featuring a perfectly round bezel, embodies the brand’s values of elegance, tradition and performance.
