What makes this timepiece exceptional
Longines has reinvented one of the most classic complications in the watchmaking world with this model: the power reserve indicator, which is presented here in a truly unique way. Not only is the indicator centered in the middle of the dial, but the stacked disks that form it are powered by a single rotating movement: When wound, the outer graduated disk rotates clockwise to align with the indicator. When the power reserve runs out, the inner disc with the indicator turns, while the outer disc stops.
The Longines watch design is complex but harmonious, with a perfect balance between form and function. The concentric circles formed by the discs of the central complication are enhanced by a faceted metal ring that links the indexes together and gives the dial a strong visual coherence, as well as easy readability.
