What makes this timepiece exceptional
Since the end of the 19th century, Longines has combined technical prowess with the aesthetics of each era. The first watches worn on the wrist were intended for ladies and often round in shape with wire attachments welded to the case.
Thanks to the development of small calibers specially designed for women, Longines was able to offer ladies models that combined fine jewellery in an elegant style with delicate and functional design. After the technical exploits in miniaturising movements achieved by Longines between the First World War and the 1920s, a second golden age of very small sized elegant watches arrived. This model from 1967 takes reference to this period.
This ladies’ watch (ref. 7662) is fitted with a mechanical movement, caliber 410 that was developed in 1963. It is designed in an oval shape and executed without a second hand, but incorporating the ""Incabloc"" shock-absorbing device. This high-quality movement is equipped with a regulating organ oscillating at an enhanced frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, a characteristic that distinguishes it from other movements developed by Longines for ladies' models.
