    Grand opening of a new Longines Boutique in Taiwan with brand’s Ambassador of Elegance Chi Ling Lin

    On 18 December 2020, Swiss watch brand Longines had the pleasure to celebrate the opening of its new corporate Boutique at Xinyi FET A13 in Taipei, Taiwan. This event was the occasion for the brand to invite its Ambassador of Elegance and renown actress Chi Ling Lin. True to the brand’s timeless elegance, the Boutique offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere and displays Longines’ various collections. The celebration started with a group of kids’ dance and sing performance, which was joined by Chi Ling Lin for the greatest pleasure of people in attendance. Wearing an elegant black dress, Chi Ling Lin perfectly embodied Longines’ slogan “Elegance is an Attitude”. On her wrist, a black-dial model with leather strap from the Longines Spirit collection: “If I had to choose a watch for a Christmas gift, I’d go for a Longines Spirit. I was seduced by the pioneering spirit behind this collection and I love the contemporary design of those timepieces”. This event was also the occasion for Longines to give its support to Chi Ling Lin’s Charity Foundation, which helps children in need. Heidi Chu, Country Manager from Swatch Group Taiwan represented Longines and made a donation to Chi Ling Lin’s organization. In addition, the brand participated in the creation of a Charity Gift Set including a 2021 calendar and a card signed by Chi Ling Lin. Starting on 18 December and until  31 January, those gifts will be offered for any purchase of a Longines Spirit timepiece in the new Boutique. With the holiday season around the corner, Longines is holding a “Season’s Greeting Watch Exhibition” at the first floor of Xinyi FET A13 until the 3 January. The exhibition highlights the brand’s blue dials collections, such as The Longines Master Collection, La Grande Classique de Longines, the Longines DolceVita or The Longines Spirit.

    Semmieke Rothenberger appointed Longines FEI Rising Star for the second time

    As the FEI’s Top Partner, Longines is proud to take part in the FEI Awards and to present one of the five categories, namely the Longines Rising Star Award. With the Gala cancelled this year due to the pandemic, the winners were revealed online in a moving video narrated by British Paralympic champion Natasha Baker. The Awards celebrate, since 2009, people and organizations that are making an outstanding contribution to the progress and excellence of equestrian sports. In this context, Longines is delighted to lend its name to the Longines Rising Star Award, which rewards athletes between the ages of 14 and 21 demonstrating remarkable equestrian sporting talent. The Swiss watchmaking brand has always had at heart to encourage youngsters to practice sports and to surpass themselves. This Award was claimed by German Dressage rider Semmieke Rothenberger for the second year in a row. Longines Ambassador of Elegance Sönke Rothenberger’s sister was overcome with emotion when her family held a surprise presentation of the award at their home in Germany. “I’m very grateful that so many people voted for me and that there is such a big fan base of people that support me,” Semmieke Rothenberger said. “It is also quite surreal because there were so many good athletes in this category, including my brother Sönke, so I didn’t really expect that I would win it again.”%break%The 21-year-old, winner of 22 FEI European Championship medals through all the youth categories right up to Young Riders, has even bigger goals for the future.   Along with Eventing legend Ingrid Klimke (Peden Bloodstock FEI Best Athlete), Carmen Thiemann (Cavalor FEI Best Groom Award), Angelika Trabert (FEI Against All Odds Award) and the Ebony Horse Club (FEI Solidarity Award), Semmieke received an elegant Longines timepiece to celebrate her win. “We are delighted to once again celebrate Semmieke Rothenberger’s dedication to equestrian sport and we applaud her determination, passion and energy, which we are confident will take her to the very top in her sporting career” commented Matthieu Baumgartner, Longines Vice President Marketing.   Link to the 2020 FEI Awards Ceremony video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcTSjL7bx2E

    On Sunday, 13 December 2020, LONGINES was proud to take part in the 2020 LONGINES Hong Kong International Races as Title Partner and Official Timekeeper. A major highlight of the annual horseracing calendar, the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races day guaranteed impressive performances from some of the world's best horses and jockeys.   The LONGINES Hong Kong International Races delivered a thrilling conclusion to the year, featuring no fewer than four Group 1 races. Ryan Moore claimed the LONGINES Hong Kong Vase and the LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint, aboard Mogul and Danon Smash respectively, while Golden Sixty led by Vincent Ho claimed the LONGINES Hong Kong Mile. Finally, Zac Purton and Normcore emerged victorious in the LONGINES Hong Kong Cup.   In its role of Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the event, LONGINES was proud to reward the winning teams with elegant timepieces.   The Swiss watch brand was also pleased to highlight the Official Watch of the 2020 LONGINES Hong Kong International Races, a blue-dial chronograph from the LONGINES Spirit collection.     Longines International Jockey's Championships

    Gathering some of the world’s best jockeys each year at the Happy Valley racecourse, in Hong Kong SAR, the LONGINES International Jockeys Championship was claimed yesterday by jockey Zac Purton with 20 points, ahead of Joao Moreira, Hollie Doyle and Alexis Badel. During the prize-giving ceremony, the winner was presented with an elegant timepiece from the hands of Ms. Nancy Tse, Vice President of LONGINES Hong Kong.   As the Official Watch of the event, the brand highlighted a blue-dial chronograph model from the LONGINES Spirit collection, designed in the same manner as the LONGINES timepieces of the famous pioneers as they conquered the air, land and sea.     The 2019 edition of the Jumping Mechelen, held from 26-30 December 2019 In the Belgian city was host to the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Western European League’s leg. This exciting show jumping competition was marked by the victory of Germany’s Daniel Deusser on Killer Queen VDM. Swiss rider Pius Schwizer on Cortney Cox ranked second followed by Wilm Vermeir on IQ van het Steentje on his home soil. Longines was glad to reward Daniel Deusser with an elegant timepiece to celebrate his great performance.     On Saturday 21 December 2019, Swiss rider Martin Fuchs and his mount The Sinner, jumped to victory in the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM during Olympia, the London International Horse Show. Austria’s Max Kühner on Elektric Blue P took second place followed by Belgian rider Niels Bruynseels on Delux van T & L. The winner of this exciting competition received an elegant Longines watch by the Swiss watchmaking brand, which is the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Western European League.

    The Longines Hong Kong International Races delivered a thrilling conclusion to the year, featuring some of the world’s best horses and jockeys in no fewer than four Group 1 races. Measuring 542 square feet, the boutique perfectly combines the impressive heritage of the brand with a timeless design where refinement and elegance are conveyed in every detail. With its extensive selection of timepieces, the new Longines Gurney Plaza boutique is already an essential destination for discerning customers. But a special visit from Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok has elevated the elegance of the boutique even further. Celebrating this remarkable milestone by making his first appearance as Longines Ambassador of Elegance in Malaysia, Aaron Kwok caught the spotlight with a Longines watch from the new Longines HydroConquest collection, the brand's iconic sports line which features a colored ceramic insert on the bezel. ““It was an honour to be here today to celebrate this amazing milestone with Longines.     Suave Richard galloped to victory in the 2019 edition of the Japan Cup in association with Longines

    On Sunday, 24 November, the iconic Tokyo Racecourse, Japan, hosted the 39th edition of the Japan Cup in association with Longines. As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of this thrilling sport event, Longines was delighted to time the victory of Suave Richard, ridden by Oisin Murphy, in the feature race. The Japanese horse was followed by Curren Bouquetd’or, ridden by Akihide Tsumura, and Wagnerian, ridden by Yuga Kawada. The winning team was presented with elegant timepieces from the hands of Longines President, Walter von Känel, and Longines Vice President Marketing, Matthieu Baumgartner.   Established in Tokyo since 1981, the Japan Cup in association with Longines is a 2400 meters international Group 1 turf race for horses aged 3 years or older.     Longines unveils a new Boutique in Xi’an

    On Thursday, December 5, Swiss watch brand Longines celebrated the opening of its new Boutique in Xi’an, China. To the delight of watches aficionados, the store spreads across 56 square meters and displays a large selection of Longines timepieces.   Numerous guests attended the event, including Chinese actress Kan Qing Zi.
