    Longines Launches its Gymnastics Activation at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre

    Today, Longines launched a special photo activation at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) mascot Borobi and Longines Friends Ali Gordon and Matt Harnacke, participated in this engaging activation which features two gymnastics disciplines – the ribbon and the rings. Longines invites all guests attending the gymnastics competition at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre to visit the Longines stand and test their skills in these disciplines.     Longines Record Club officially launched in the Gold Coast today

    On 3 April, Longines, the Official Timekeeper of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018), hosted its Elegance is an Attitude Black-Tie dinner to launch Longines Records Club. Notable guests included Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice-President of Longines and Head of International Marketing alongside The Honourable Peter Beattie AC and Dr Heather Beattie, Mr Kerry Stokes AC and Christine Simpson Stokes, former Australian athlete Matt Shirvington and Longines Friends and Rugby Sevens athletes Charlotte Caslick and Charlie Taylor. In addition to being the Official Timekeeper, Longines is Presenting Partner of Athletics (Track & Field), Gymnastics, Rugby Sevens and Table Tennis. During the 11 days of competition, Longines Records Club will host a number of events including a Mini Games Day for children as well as events celebrating both women and men in sport. Additionally, every time a world record or commonwealth Games record is broken, Longines will invite the talented athlete to Longines Records Club for a special records ceremony. On these occasions and in recognition of their outstanding achievement, each world record breaker will be presented with a Longines Conquest V.H.P. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games watch, a personal certificate of achievement and donation in the athlete’s name to UNICEF. The Commonweatlth Games records will also celebrated during the Longines Records Ceremonies. The record-breaking athletes will be presented with a personal certificate of achievement and a donation in the athlete’s name to UNICEF.     The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games has officially started today

    Today, the Opening Ceremony of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) was held at Carrara Stadium. This spectacular global event marked the beginning of GC2018.     The Queen’s Baton Relay arrived in Gold Coast

    Today Longines Friend of the Brand and Australian athlete Amy Pejkovic arrived in Gold Coast with the Queen’s Baton, of which Longines is the proud Official Partner, for the last step of its journey through all the countries and nations of the Commonwealth around the world. The Opening Ceremony of the XXI Commonwealth Games will indeed take place tomorrow April 4, 2018 in the Australian city, marking the start of ten days of intense competition. During her run, Amy was wearing the Conquest V.H.P. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, featuring the colors of this unique international sporting event.     Longines receives an Appreciation Award in honor of its partnership with the Dubai World Cup

    Longines, represented by its Vice President and Head of International Marketing Juan-Carlos Capelli, was presented yesterday evening with an Appreciation Award from the hands of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his son HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This award celebrates the brand’s partnership with the Dubai World Cup to be held on March 31, 2018 at the Meydan Racetrack. As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the event, Longines is also the Presenting Partner of the Longines Dubai Sheema Classic, the most important turf race of the day.

    The 2018 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final will take place at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris with Longines as its proud Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch. This much-awaited competition will start on Thursday 12 April 2018 with Round I, followed by Round II on the next day and the Final on Sunday.     10 Days to Go - The Countdown is on for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

    2017 Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Rider & Horse Awards Ceremony

    Longines and the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) are delighted to celebrate equestrian excellence by presenting the Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Horse and Rider Awards to the 2017 world’s highest officially rated jumping horse and rider. The ceremony, the first of its kind, will take place at the iconic Mairie de Paris on Wednesday 11 April 2018 along with the FEI World Cup’s draws for the disciplines of Jumping and Dressage. The Longines World’s Best Jumping Horse and Rider Awards will be presented in the form of magnificent crystal winged hourglasses in reference to the brand’s emblem. Those trophies can be admired in the Longines Museum in Saint-Imier (Switzerland). Furthermore, the winning rider and the representative of the winning horse will be granted an elegant Longines timepiece belonging to the Longines Saint-Imier Collection as well as a replica trophy. Points for the Longines Rankings are accumulated in Grands Prix*, the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping and the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™, including the Finals, as well as the World and European Senior Championships.     Second FIS Alpine World Cup overall title for Longines Ambassador of Elegance Mikaela Shiffrin

    Longines congratulates its Ambassador of Elegance Mikaela Shiffrin on winning her second Overall Crystal Globe. With a total of 1773 points, she finished ahead of Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener with 1168 points and Slovakia’s Petra Vlhova with 977 points respectively. Following an exceptional 2017/2018 FIS Alpine World Cup season, Mikaela also claimed the slalom crystal globe for the fifth time of her career, with no fewer than seven victories in this discipline this season. While she dominated the technical disciplines, the American skier also claimed a first impressive World Cup Downhill race in Lake Louise, Canada, back in December. In the male category, Austria’s Marcel Hirscher won the Overall title for the seventh time, in front of Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen and Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aksel Lund Svindal. As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the FIS, the brand had the honor of rewarding the overall winners Mikaela Shiffrin and Marcel Hirscher with two exceptional athletes with elegant Longines timepieces during an official prize giving ceremony held in Are, Sweden in the context of the FIS Alpine World Cup Finals.
