    Longines honored the winner of the 25ème heure Longines photo competition in Deauville

    This weekend, Longines was proud to be the Official Partner of the 25ème heure Longines photo competition in Deauville, France. This event, which takes place every fall when the clocks are turned backward 1 hour, invites participants to take a snapshot of the town between midnight and 1am to immortalize this special 25th hour of the day. This year, many pictures depicted the night and the moon perfectly highlighting the Official Watch of the competition, a new model from the Longines Master Collection featuring a moon phase indicator.%break%A symbol of Longines’ watchmaking expertise, The Longines Master Collection perfectly embodies the values of excellence and elegance that have contributed to building the brand’s reputation across the world.     Longines in Sölden for the start of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2019/2020

    As the Official Partner of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Longines is proud to put its expertise in sports timekeeping to use in the realms of alpine skiing for the trials of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. In addition, the brand is looking forward to the performances of its Ambassador of Elegance, American skier Mikaela Shiffrin, as well as the members of the Longines Family, Switzerland’s Loïc and Mélanie Meillard, Marco Odermatt and France’s Matthieu Faivre.   On the occasion of 2019/2020 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup opening in Sölden, Austria, Longines presented the two Official Watches of the season, the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” in lady and The latter, in a diameter of 41 mm, displays a silver dial, while the former, in 36mm, features a mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds. Both are equipped with equipped with an exclusive movement renowned for its high degree of precision for an analog watch (± 5 s/yr) and its ability to reset its hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field. These attractive features are completed by a very long battery life and a perpetual calendar.   Longines, in keeping with its desire to promote the next generation of athletes, will again lend its support to the Longines Future Hahnenkamm Champions race, to be held in January in Kitzbühel on the eve of the legendary World Cup stage. The race is a team event in two legs for promising young skiers aged under 16 years old. It provides a platform for upcoming skiers to partake in alpine ski sport at a competitive level.   Furthermore, the brand will award the Longines Rising Ski Stars prize, which goes to the top female skier under 21 and the top male skier under 23 during the FIS World Cup season. Winners will receive a Longines watch, a trophy and a cheque at the end of the season, which will wrap up in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, in March 2020.

    Longines HKIR Prelude Race Night

    Hong Kong (Hong Kong SAR), 23 October 2019 – Swiss watch brand LONGINES was proud to time today at Happy Valley racecourse the LONGINES Night Races, the much-awaited horseracing rendezvous which kicks off the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races week. Happy Time was led to victory by Australian jockey Zac Purton in the highlight and sixth race of the evening, the LONGINES Cup. The winning owner, jockey and trainer each received an elegant LONGINES timepieces, presented by Ms. Karen Au Yeung, Vice President of LONGINES Hong Kong. During the event, the brand highlighted a ladies model from The LONGINES Master Collection, a line which blends classic elegance and excellence, for the greatest pleasure of watchmaking enthusiasts. This 29-mm steel model displays a sunray blue dial featuring diamond indexes and silvered polished hands. Fitted with an automatic movement, this elegant timepiece is complimented by a stainless steel bracelet. As part of its partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, the Swiss watch brand is also the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races week, including the LONGINES International Jockeys’ Championship held on Wednesday December 4th.  In addition, at the LHKIR Gala Dinner jointly presented by LONGINES and the Hong Kong Jockey Club on Friday December 6th, the “2019 LONGINES World Best Jockey Award” will be presented to recognize the best jockey in the world.   On Sunday December 8th, during the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races, LONGINES will have the pleasure to welcome its Ambassador of Elegance Aaron Kwok. The acclaimed local superstar will present the LONGINES Prize for Elegance to the most elegant lady of the Sha Tin Racecourse on that day.   LONGINES’ passion for equestrian sports dates back to 1878, when it produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and its horse that could be used for precise timing to a second. As of 1881, this model was extremely popular among jockeys and horse-lovers, and was soon being used by most of the sports judges in New York. Today, LONGINES’ involvement in equestrian sports includes horseracing, show jumping, driving, eventing and dressage competitions.

    Longines extends its Partnership with the Jumping Indoor Maastricht

    Longines and the Jumping Indoor Maastricht are delighted to extend their association from this year forward. The Swiss watch brand has been a valued major partner since the relaunch of the show in 2013.     Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Western European League - Oslo Horse Show

    The first leg of the 2019 / 2020 season of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Western European League was marked by the victory of Switzerland’s Bryan Balsiger on Clouzot de Lassus. Luciana Diniz (POR) on Vertigo du Desert took second place followed by Norway’s Geir Gulliksen on VDL Groep Quatro. Longines was glad to reward Bryan Balsiger with an elegant timepiece to celebrate his great performance. Longines is delighted to be associated as the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ series (Western European League, North American League and China League), at which riders compete for the qualifying points for the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final in Las Vegas in April 2020.

    On Saturday 19 October 2019, Israeli rider Ashlee Bond and her mount Donatello claimed victory in the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League in Del Mar, California. Nikolaj Hein Ruus (DEN) on Cadillac arrived second, while USA’s Keri Potter on Ariell la Sirene completed the podium.   As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League series, Longines was delighted to grant the winner, Ashlee Bond, with an elegant Longines timepiece.   Besides, the Swiss watchmaker was proud to present the Official Watch of the event, a new model its HydroConquest collection, combining technical excellence and a sporty look.

    Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters

    From 11 to 13 October, the Chinese capital hosted the 2019 edition of the Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters, gathering the best national and international riders in the famous Bird’s Nest. As the Title Partner and the Official Timekeeper of this spectacular event, Longines was delighted to time the remarkable performance of Penelope Leprevost (FR) on Cenai who claimed the Longines Grand Prix, which rounded off the weekend. Daniel Deusser (GER) on Leonidas and Zhang Bin (CN) on Fetti Cash completed the podium. Chinese actress and Longines Ambassador of Elegance, Zhao Liying, who joined the event as a special guest, presented the winner with a Longines timepiece to acknowledge her great victory. The 2019 Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters were a unique opportunity for the brand to highlight the Official Watch of the event, a new model from one of its most emblematic lines, The Longines Master Collection.     49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2019

    As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the 49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Stuttgart (GER), Longines was proud to honour French gymnast Melanie de Jesus dos Santos and American gymnast Samuel Mikulak with the ultimate prize outside of competition: the Longines Prize for Elegance. All participants in the individual men and women allaround finals held respectively on Thursday 10 October and Friday 11 October were nominated for this elegant contest. The winners impressed the whole jury beyond technical considerations for the grace, beauty, harmony and above all, the elegance of their performance, a value cherished by Longines. They both received elegant Longines timepieces, as well as a trophy and a cheque.    In Stuttgart, the jury of the Longines Prize for Elegance comprised Rainer Eckert, Brand Manager Longines Germany, Morinari Watanabe, President of the International Gymnastics Federation, Catalina Ponor and Fabian Hambuechen, Women's and Men's Artistic Ambassadors for the 2019 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The jury's individual assessments were combined to form a collective judgement reflecting a perceptive and balanced evaluation of the gymnasts' performances.   Besides, Longines was delighted to support its Ambassador of Elegance, Swiss gymnast Giulia Steingruber. She finished eighteen among the world's best Artistic gymnasts in the individual All-around Final.   Last but not least, she was seen wearing the Official Watch of the event, a model from the Conquest Classic collection featuring a white mother-of-pearl dial adorned with diamond indexes. This line skilfully combines modernity with the refinement that defines the brand. Elegant and sleek, this latest creation is both feminine and boldly contemporary.

    Simon Baker discovers the Longines universe in Saint-Imier

    Swiss watchmaking brand Longines was proud to welcome Simon Baker, its Ambassador of Elegance since 2012, to its headquarters in Saint-Imier.   During this very special day, Simon Baker had the opportunity to meet with the employees and to go through the complex process of creating a watch as he visited the production workshops.   After having had his very first cheese fondue in a typical Swiss restaurant, Simon had the pleasure to discover the treasures kept in the brand’s museum, which harbours collections representing all facets of Longines’ rich past.   Delighted to witness the watchmaking expertise and to immerge himself into the brand’s history, Simon Baker commented: “Having been part of the Family for seven years, it is overwhelming to finally be here, it puts a very human quality element to the whole brand that resonates directly in me. Being able to feel the love that the watchmakers have for what they do has been very enlightening and inspiring, it moves the product itself to a richer place.”   Over the course of his visit, Simon Baker was wearing a new all-ceramic version of the HydroConquest collection, which draws its inspiration form the world of aquatic sports.
