    Grand opening of a new Longines Boutique in Taiwan with brand’s Ambassador of Elegance Chi Ling Lin

    On 18 December 2020, Swiss watch brand Longines had the pleasure to celebrate the opening of its new corporate Boutique at Xinyi FET A13 in Taipei, Taiwan. This event was the occasion for the brand to invite its Ambassador of Elegance and renown actress Chi Ling Lin. True to the brand’s timeless elegance, the Boutique offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere and displays Longines’ various collections. The celebration started with a group of kids’ dance and sing performance, which was joined by Chi Ling Lin for the greatest pleasure of people in attendance. Wearing an elegant black dress, Chi Ling Lin perfectly embodied Longines’ slogan “Elegance is an Attitude”. On her wrist, a black-dial model with leather strap from the Longines Spirit collection: “If I had to choose a watch for a Christmas gift, I’d go for a Longines Spirit. I was seduced by the pioneering spirit behind this collection and I love the contemporary design of those timepieces”. This event was also the occasion for Longines to give its support to Chi Ling Lin’s Charity Foundation, which helps children in need. Heidi Chu, Country Manager from Swatch Group Taiwan represented Longines and made a donation to Chi Ling Lin’s organization. In addition, the brand participated in the creation of a Charity Gift Set including a 2021 calendar and a card signed by Chi Ling Lin. Starting on 18 December and until  31 January, those gifts will be offered for any purchase of a Longines Spirit timepiece in the new Boutique. With the holiday season around the corner, Longines is holding a “Season’s Greeting Watch Exhibition” at the first floor of Xinyi FET A13 until the 3 January. The exhibition highlights the brand’s blue dials collections, such as The Longines Master Collection, La Grande Classique de Longines, the Longines DolceVita or The Longines Spirit.

    Semmieke Rothenberger appointed Longines FEI Rising Star for the second time

    As the FEI’s Top Partner, Longines is proud to take part in the FEI Awards and to present one of the five categories, namely the Longines Rising Star Award. With the Gala cancelled this year due to the pandemic, the winners were revealed online in a moving video narrated by British Paralympic champion Natasha Baker. The Awards celebrate, since 2009, people and organizations that are making an outstanding contribution to the progress and excellence of equestrian sports. In this context, Longines is delighted to lend its name to the Longines Rising Star Award, which rewards athletes between the ages of 14 and 21 demonstrating remarkable equestrian sporting talent. The Swiss watchmaking brand has always had at heart to encourage youngsters to practice sports and to surpass themselves. This Award was claimed by German Dressage rider Semmieke Rothenberger for the second year in a row.     On Sunday, 13 December 2020, LONGINES was proud to take part in the 2020 LONGINES Hong Kong International Races as Title Partner and Official Timekeeper. A major highlight of the annual horseracing calendar, the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races day guaranteed impressive performances from some of the world's best horses and jockeys.   The LONGINES Hong Kong International Races delivered a thrilling conclusion to the year, featuring no fewer than four Group 1 races. Ryan Moore claimed the LONGINES Hong Kong Vase and the LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint, aboard Mogul and Danon Smash respectively, while Golden Sixty led by Vincent Ho claimed the LONGINES Hong Kong Mile.     Longines International Jockey's Championships

    Gathering some of the world’s best jockeys each year at the Happy Valley racecourse, in Hong Kong SAR, the LONGINES International Jockeys Championship was claimed yesterday by jockey Zac Purton with 20 points, ahead of Joao Moreira, Hollie Doyle and Alexis Badel. During the prize-giving ceremony, the winner was presented with an elegant timepiece from the hands of Ms. Nancy Tse, Vice President of LONGINES Hong Kong.   As the Official Watch of the event, the brand highlighted a blue-dial chronograph model from the LONGINES Spirit collection, designed in the same manner as the LONGINES timepieces of the famous pioneers as they conquered the air, land and sea.     Japan Cup in association with Longines

    On Sunday, November 29, the iconic Tokyo Racecourse hosted the 40th Japan Cup in association with Longines. As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of this thrilling sports event, Longines was proud to time the victory of Almond Eye, ridden by Christophe Lemaire, in the feature race, and to present the winning team with elegant timepieces. The champion Japanese mare, who won the race for the second time, was followed by Contrail and Daring Tact.   Established in Tokyo since 1981, the Japan Cup in association with Longines is a 2400 meters international Group 1 turf race for horses aged 3 years or older. The event is the biggest race in the country and belongs to the most prestigious ones in the world.     Breeders' Cup World Championships - Longines Breeders' Cup Classic/Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff/Longines Breeders' Cup Turf

    In keeping with current health guidelines, the 2020 Breeders Cup World Championships were watched by thousands at home via the television and live streaming apps and were even able to experience the races through virtual reality, a first-time offering for the event.   In anticipation of the race, The Breeders Cup alongside its Official Partner Longines hosted a virtual fashion contest, the Longines Prize for Elegance, where hopeful equestrian fans and overall fashionistas shared their most stylish outfits via social media. The distinguished panel of judges included U.S. Longines President Pascal Savoy, storied television personality Carson Kressley, model and sportscaster Bonnie-Jill Laflin and  sportscaster Julie Stewart-Binks.     Longines HKIR Prelude Race Night

    On October 28, 2020, at Happy Valley racecourse (HK SAR), Longines was proud to time the Longines Night Races: the much-awaited horseracing event kicking off the Longines Hong Kong International Races week. Best Alliance galloped to victory, ridden by jockey Keith Yeung in that evening’s highlight race, the Longines Cup. The winning owner, jockey and trainer each received an elegant Longines timepiece, presented by Ms. Nancy Tse, Vice President of Longines Hong Kong.   During the event, the brand highlighted a black-dial model from the Longines Spirit collection, designed in the same manner as the Longines timepieces of the famous pioneers as they conquered the air, land and sea.     Last weekend, Longines was proud to be the Title Partner, Official Watch and Official Timekeeper of the Longines Balve Optimum 2020. The equestrian competition takes place every summer since 1948 in the German town of Balve. This year, the dressage event was held from September 18 to 20.   On Sunday, Isabell Werth won the Grand Prix with 90.825%, followed by Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (89.35%) and Dorothee Schneider (81.6%).     The Longines Balve Optimum 2020 was a great opportunity for the brand to highlight its Official Watch, a model from The Longines Master Collection.
