    Longines launches a new boutique in Singapore at Wisma Atria, Orchard Road

    Longines celebrated the opening of its new Singapore boutique at Wisma Atria in the presence of Chi Ling Lin, Longines Ambassador of Elegance. Spanning over 1,500 square feet, it is the largest Longines boutique in Singapore. Watch collectors, members of the press and invited guests witnessed the opening ceremony and joined in the celebrations.

    Longines launches The Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 USA Limited Edition

    On November 7th, in New York City, the Swiss watch brand Longines unveiled a new exclusive watch dedicated solely for the U.S. market, The Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 USA Limited Edition.   Available in a limited series of 100 pieces exclusive to the United States, the Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 illustrates the brand’s historic ties with the world of aviation, in terms of design, performance, and precision. This vintage-style chronograph draws inspiration from a 1935 model ordered by the U.S. military.   Press and guests attending this launch event got the chance to see this new limited-edition series presented alongside related historic Longines pieces, each with special ties to the United States, and flown in from the brand’s Museum at Saint-Imier, Switzerland for the occasion.

    A collector finds the oldest Longines watch known to date, a historical discovery for the brand

    Through its museum, the preservation of its archives and the know-how of its watchmakers, or by growing its historical collections, Longines places great importance on honoring its rich past, a source of inspiration to this day. It is in this spirit of tradition and preservation of its heritage that the winged hourglass company passionately seeks to find traces of its oldest pieces.   The Swiss watch brand is therefore extremely proud to have recently discovered, thanks to the research of one of its collectors, the oldest Longines watch known to date. Its owner, an American collector of Japanese descent, went to the headquarters of the brand to authenticate his piece. Thanks to its small serial number - 183 - and to the indications inscribed in the archives registers, preciously preserved, the brand’s historians and watchmakers can attest that this pocket watch was manufactured in 1867, the year the Longines factory was created to replace the original counter founded in 1832.   %break%Housing a mechanical wind-up movement, this “savonette” type  silver pocket watch is characteristic of the pieces created by Longines at that time. Emblem of the brand since the very beginning, a winged hourglass is engraved on its movement and inside its cover. An engraving showing two blank crests and a floral motif adorn its cover. This piece, the condition and proper functionning of which impresses specialists, is a major discovery for the Swiss watch brand.

    Longines Ambassador of Elegance Andre Agassi opens the doors of his campus in Las Vegas to generous donors

    On Thursday, November 1st, students, professors, as well as the eponym founder of the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education were delighted to welcome to the Democracy Prep at the Agassi Campus in Las Vegas generous donors from all over the world. The latter’s purchase of the exclusive “Conquest V.H.P. Stefanie Graf & Andre Agassi Foundations” watch sets will help the foundation, which mission is to educate responsible citizen-scholars for success in the college of their choice and a life of active citizenship. The visit was concluded by the presentation of the exclusive watches by Andre Agassi himself to the bidders on the campus.   This presentation marked the conclusion of a charity project that started in Paris five months ago. On Saturday 2 June, the prestigious Musée Rodin played host to a sensational Charity Gala Dinner organised by the Swiss watch brand Longines to honour two tennis legends it has been closely involved with for a decade, its Ambassadors of Elegance Stefanie Graf and Andre Agassi. To celebrate this anniversary, Longines created a special watch, numbered and limited to 10 pieces for the men’s version and 10 pieces for the ladies’ version: the “Conquest V.H.P. Stefanie Graf & Andre Agassi Foundations”. As part of the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” collection, these exceptional timepieces, emblem of generosity, were sold through an online auction from June 2 to July 2.  All proceeds going to Children for Tomorrow and The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, two charities founded by the Ambassadors of Elegance.   Longines acquired the first piece numbered 1/10 during the Charity Gala Dinner for its Museum, in Saint-Imier. The other nine sets were acquired by the highest bidders, raising a total amount of 300’000 USD for both foundations. The generous buyers were then personally invited to receive their watches from the hands of either Stefanie Graf or Andre Agassi, during a visit of their respective foundation.   This first presentation in Las Vegas by Andre Agassi will be followed by a second ceremony next year in Hamburg, home of Stefanie Graf’s foundation Children for Tomorrow.

    Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf inaugurate Longines’ new sales corner in Las Vegas

    On Wednesday, October 31st, Longines opened its newest shop inside the Las Vegas’ Tourbillon Boutique, located in the CityCenter Complex. Longines’ Ambassadors of Elegance Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf were present to celebrate this particular event in one of Las Vegas most prestigious watch lover’s temple. With this new opening, the brand invites customers to discover Longines elegant collections and exclusive universe, made up of Elegance, Performance and Tradition.   From its very earliest moments, in the 1830’s, Longines has forged strong ties with the United States. Today, the brand counts more than 300 points of sales all over the country. Furthermore, the winged hourglass brand is a trusted partner for many sporting competitions across America, from equestrian events to skiing and gymnastics. Longines has also worked with celebrities who embody brand’s values and image of elegance, including American tennis legend Andre Agassi, who now works to improve access to education and the lives of disadvantaged children through his Las Vegas-based foundation, and Stefanie Graf who works to help children and families who are victims of war, persecution and violence through her Hamburg-based foundation, Children for Tomorrow.   This Wednesday, the owners of the limited “Conquest V.H.P. Stefanie Graf & Andre Agassi Foundations” timepieces, auctioned this summer to commemorate ten years of partnership between the two tennis legends and the brand, were also invited to attend Longines’ inauguration in the Tourbillon Boutique. On November 1st, the generous donors will have the chance to visit the Democracy Prep Academy at Agassi Campus, before officially receiving their numbered watch sets from the hands of Andre Agassi himself.

    Longines is delighted to have honoured the winner of the photo competition la 25ème heure Longines

    Longines this week announced its partnership with Deauville, which also includes a collaboration with the photo competition la 25ème heure Longines. Indeed, the Swiss watch brand is proud and honoured to be the Official Partner of the French seaside resort, which has been decked out with Longines clocks. The latter can be admired along the iconic coastal promenade in front of the famous Planches. Besides, the Swiss watch brand is delighted to have been, for the first time, the Official Partner of the photo competition la 25ème heure Longines. This event, which takes place every year when the clocks go back and invites participants to take a snapshot of the town between midnight and 1am to immortalize this special 25th hour of the day. The ritual of switching between summer and wintertime reflects one of the technical characteristics of Longines’ latest innovation, the Conquest V.H.P. GMT Flash Setting, which is also the Official Watch of this event. This timepiece controls automatically the change between summer and winter time all around the world.     To mark the opening of the alpine skiing season, Longines is presenting the Conquest Chronograph by Mikaela Shiffrin

    As the Official Partner of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Longines is proud to put its expertise in sports timekeeping to use in the realms of alpine skiing for the trials of the FIS World Cup and the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. As the preferred partner of the world of skiing, the brand is presenting a new model from its Conquest sports collection, customised by its Ambassador of Elegance Mikaela Shiffrin, with whom Longines has just extended a long-term contract. This new model was unveiled today as part of the FIS Forum held in Sölden, Austria, on the eve of the first races of the FIS World Cup, and in the presence of the brand’s President, Walter von Känel.  The blue aventurine dial of the Conquest Chronograph by Mikaela Shiffrin, along with hints of red on the chronograph’s flange and hands, evoke the colours of the American flag, honoring the skier's home country and her famous ski suit. For the first time, Longines is offering a dial made of aventurine, a fine gemstone with colours that shift and come to life under variations in light. The glitter evokes the sparkling snow cover which drapes the ski slopes carved out by this champion. Moreover, the caseback of this timepiece features a special engraving that shows Mikaela Shiffrin’s silhouette, along with her signature.   Longines, in keeping with its desire to support the next generation of athletes, is pleased to award the Longines Rising Ski Stars prize, which goes to the top female skier under 21 and the top male skier under 23 during the FIS World Cup season. Winners will receive a Longines watch, a trophy and a cheque at the end of the season, which will wrap up in Soldeu, Andorra, in March 2019.

    Longines opens its Flagship Boutique in Orchard Road, Singapore
