Longines announces the renewal of its partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club

During a reception held at Longines Star House flagship boutique, located in the Kowloon area, Longines announced the renewal of its partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, of which the Swiss watch brand is the Official Partner and Watch. Under this agreement, Longines lends its name to the Longines International Jockey Championship, as well as the Longines Hong Kong International Races, the spectacular conclusion to the flat racing year. The event was attended by Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing, Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, CEO of the HKJC, Anthony Kelly, Executive Director for Racing Business and Operations, as well as two world-class jockeys: Joao Moreira, Hong Kong’s champion jockey in the last two seasons and Ryan Moore, winner of the 2014 and 2016 Longines World’s Best Jockey Award.
To mark this celebration, the Longines Star House boutique is hosting a temporary exhibition of original pocket watches, including the very first chronograph produced by the brand in 1878, which is engraved with a jockey and his mount. These exceptional timepieces, usually kept in Longines Museum in Saint-Imier, are displayed for the first time in Hong Kong. In addition, in the context of the upcoming Longines Hong Kong International Races, four Longines boutiques – Lee Garden, Lockhart, Hollywood Plaza, and Star House – are currently showcasing the Longines Hong Kong Cup, Longines Hong Kong Vase, Longines Hong Kong Mile and Longines Hong Kong Sprint, as well as the Longines World’s Best Jockey Award, which will be presented on Friday December 9, during the LHKIR Gala Dinner.
