Not only has Longines ski athlete Mikaela Shiffrin (born in 1995) surpassed the unprecedented threshold of 100 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup victories, but she also holds a record of more than 150 World Cup podiums, along with five overall Crystal Globes, eight slalom Globes and two giant slalom Globes.
A two-time Olympic Champion, eight-time World Champion and the record holder for the most World Cup wins on the circuit, Shiffrin is the winningest skier of all time. The only athlete with victories in all six alpine skiing disciplines, she has made her versatility an asset and her achievements have earned her a place among the greatest skiers in history.
She started skiing at the age of three with her parents, Eileen and Jeff, who have been an integral part of her career. As a teenager, the North American skier claimed her first FIS Alpine Ski World Cup victory in 2012 at the age of 17, followed by her first World Championship gold medal and her first World Cup slalom Crystal Globe in 2013.
She became the youngest Olympic slalom Champion in Sochi in 2014 (RUS). She is the only athlete to have won the Longines Rising Stars Award for four consecutive years (2013 to 2016), an award recognizing her status as the best under-21 skier on the circuit.
