Jumping
June 17, 2018

Team Belgium jumped to victory at the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Poland in Sopot

On Sunday 17th of June, Team Belgium, composed of Olivier Philippaerts, Pieter Devos, Jerome Guery and Niels Bruynseels, were convincing winners of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Poland held in Sopot. Second place was taken by Team France, followed by Team USA. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of this international show jumping competition, Longines was also proud to present another highlight of the event: the Longines Grand Prix on Friday 15th of June. On this occasion, Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) on Castello earned first place, ahead of Margie Goldstein-Engle on Royce and Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski on Chacclana. Longines was proud to grant the winners of both competitions with elegant timepieces as a reward for their great performance.

It was also the occasion for the brand to highlight the Official Watch of the event, a model from the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision”, which represents a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look marked by the brand’s unique elegance.

Longines’ passion for equestrian sport dates back to 1878, when it produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his mount. Three years later, it can be found on American racecourses, adopted by horse enthusiasts. In 1912, the company partnered for the first time with an international show jumping competition. Today Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes show-jumping, flat racing, endurance, driving, dressage and eventing competitions.
