    Longines Spirit

Longines watches and devices, thanks to their reliability, accuracy, robustness and original technology, have contributed to the success of numerous pioneering exploits. They have accompanied explorers on their journeys to the last unknown lands, defied extreme weather, navigated wild oceans and played a part in opening up new air routes and establishing aviation records. Numerous explorers and aviators have placed their trust in and even entrusted their lives to Longines. The brand has equipped a host of adventurers with their precision tool watches: Amelia Earhart, Paul-Emile Victor, Elinor Smith and Howard Hughes are foremost among those who benefited from its expertise as they conquered air, land and sea.   The Longines Spirit collection brings this rich heritage back to life. Linking history with innovation, the new models take traditional features from pilot’s watches and combine them with contemporary lines and codes. The oversized crown, the flange, the pronounced step around the crystal, the font of the dial, the diamond shape indexes and the large, luminous “baton” hands are all elements drawn from the days of pioneering aviation. Reworked and updated, they blend harmoniously with the overall contemporary design. In addition, great care has been taken with the various finishes on the details, whether brushed, matt, polished or in relief.   The Longines Spirit’s elegance is equalled only by its state-of-the-art technology. Longines has fitted this range exclusively with self-winding movements (L888.4 and L688.4) with silicon hairsprings to guarantee extreme accuracy and increased longevity. The calibres, with a power reserve of 64 and 60 hours respectively, are chronometer-certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The advanced technology of this new collection is also complemented by the domed sapphire glass with multi-layered anti-reflective coating on both sides, screw in crown, and engraved case back secured with six screws.

The Longines 1832 is now available in black and offers a women’s model

1832 marks the year in which Longines was created; a bygone era when the measurement of time was beginning to gain importance and watches were still produced at home.  It was the beginning of one of Swiss watchmaking’s most beautiful stories. This key date is highlighted by The Longines 1832 collection, the worthy heir of the brand’s watchmaking expertise and aesthetic codes. Proud of its heritage, Longines is expanding this line with new models.   The Longines 1832 is now adorned with pure and elegant matte black dials. This new finish is available on the three-hand/date versions (30 and 40 mm in diameter), and enhances the models featuring an annual calendar (L897 calibre) or a moon phase display (L899 calibre).   These new timepieces, whose clear back reveals the ever-fascinating work of the movement within them, are mounted on black leather watch straps that blend perfectly with the collection’s refined lines.   Longines will be offering for the first time a beige mother-of-pearl dial, which will be showcased in The Longines 1832 collection. This women’s model features diamond indexes to give it a delicate look. Its 30 mm diameter case is mounted on an iridescent beige leather watch strap that complements the softness of the dial’s colours.   The new Longines 1832 models, in black or for women, will undoubtedly continue the brand’s long watchmaking tradition.

HydroConquest: a new look in green

The green model is the perfect addition to the HydroConquest collection’s blue, grey and black timepieces. The khaki model features a ceramic bezel insert that matches the colour of the dial and ties together the fully modernized design and sporty silhouette. Mounted on a stainless steel or green rubber strap, the watch, which is available in two sizes (41 or 43 mm in diameter), is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement (L888.3 calibre). Longines’ iconic HydroConquest collection meets the expectations of those who are drawn to the open sea. HydroConquest timepieces preserve the traditional style of diving watches, inspired by the unique requirements of the sport. The distinctive characteristics of this collection include water-resistance to 300 metres, a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screw-down crown and case back, crown protection and a double security folding clasp with integrated diving extension. To suit every wrist, Longines offers the model not only in khaki, but also in a brighter green hue. This model has a bright green vertical brushed ceramic dial, and it houses a L888.5 calibre that was designed exclusively for Longines, with a silicon balance spring. The 41 mm case comes with an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet and a green rubber strap in the same hues as the dial. Swapping them is a breeze and no tools are required thanks to the easy change system. Whether in khaki or bright green, the new HydroConquest, which is the result of Longines’ expertise in the sports field, is sure to stand out with its sleek, bold look.
