The Swiss watch brand Longines is thrilled to welcome Swiss showjumping rider Edouard Schmitz to its Family. With his victory at the Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland this year as his most significant accomplishment so far, the 23-year old already has a glittering career in showjumping and is known for numerous sporting achievements.
Raised in Geneva and Zurich, Switzerland, Edouard Schmitz devoted himself to showjumping when he was only eight years old; it was his deep-seated fascination for animals that got him start a career in showjumping.
With the determination and desire to constantly set new standards in his discipline, Edouard Schmitz stands for a new generation of successful young riders on the way to the top of showjumping and continues to enhance his already sparkling legacy. His most significant accomplishment so far has to be his victory at the Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland this year. As a member of the Swiss showjumping elite team for the past four years, he made it to the Top 40 of the world for the first time last October. In 2022, he continued to impress with his win as part of the Miami Celtics team at the 2022 Global Champions League Super Cup Final. As part of Team Switzerland, he secured the Longines FEI Jumping Nations CupTM victory in St-Gallen and also earned his spot on the podium at the Longines FEI Jumping Nations CupTM in Dublin, Sopot and Barcelona.
