In 1913, Longines launched its first wrist-chronograph that was produced in larger series, thanks to the development of the high-quality caliber 13.33Z. Bringing together all of a chronograph’s functions within a single winding stem, resulted in this pushpiece within the crown.  The  very early models are characterized by their typical soldered wire lugs.

The 13.33Z caliber is one of the first small-size chronograph movements ever developed for a wristwatch. The refinement of the movement includes an instantaneous minute-counter: The minute hand jumps one step forward exactly between the 59th and the 60th second of a minute.<br/> In addition, the enamel dial is hand painted and of great beauty. By looking closer, one can distinguish the remarkable work of hand-made brush. The exceptional condition of the gold case of this timepiece is due to a complete restoration based on the expertise of the Longines heritage workshop jeweller.
