The Record collection perfectly embodied by Longines Ambassadors of Elegance Kate Winslet & Simon Baker

On the eve of the much-awaited Prix de Diane Longines, the Swiss watchmaking brand held a special event in the breath-taking setting of the Château de Chantilly with its Ambassadors of Elegance and acclaimed actors Kate Winslet and Simon Baker. Longines was proud to welcome them for the very first time together in a same venue. Before attending this elegant celebration, Kate Winslet and Simon Baker had the opportunity to take part in a joint photoshooting, a premiere for the two actors, highlighting a pair watch from the Record collection. Together with the Longines management, Kate and Simon were delighted to present the exclusive visuals during the celebration.

For this unique and exclusive event, Kate Winslet and Simon Baker highlighted a pair watch from this range in stainless steel and rose gold, perfectly in line with the philosophy of the brand to give its female and male customers a wide range of variations in all of its collections, enabling them to find the perfect fit for their taste and personality. The ladies model features a white mother-of-pearl dial with diamond indexes, while the men piece displays a sunray silver dial with bar indexes. Both watches are mounted on an elegant stainless steel bracelet with a rose gold cap.

The Record collection

The Record collection combines classic elegance and watchmaking excellence. Each piece in this line houses a movement including a single-crystal silicon balance spring with unique properties and which is certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). With four sizes (26.00 mm, 30.00 mm, 38.50 mm and 40.00 mm) and a variety of dials, this collection is designed for men or women. All of the models feature the 3 working hands/date version and are available in steel, 18-carat rose gold or stainless steel and rose gold. Some pieces also offer a version inlaid with diamonds.  These watches come with a stainless steel or a stainless steel with a rose gold cap bracelet, or are fitted on a black, brown or blue alligator strap.

The Longines Family continues to grow with the entry of the South African actress, film producer and business woman, Terry Pheto. The official welcoming took place on Thursday, 13 June, at the Swiss watchmaker’s headquarters in Saint-Imier (Switzerland), where the new Longines Family Member was welcomed by the brand’s management and given a private tour of the establishment.

“I am particularly honoured to become a Longines Family Member. Today, I have had the chance to visit Longines’ headquarter in Switzerland, discovering the company’s fascinating history. Simon Baker is back for the 2019 edition of the Prix de Diane Longines, the epitome of elegance

The 170th edition of the Prix de Diane Longines will be held on Sunday 16 June at the Chantilly racecourse. With just a month to go before this elegant equestrian event is held at the horse capital, Longines and its Partner France Galop have unveiled the highlights of the 2019 edition during a press breakfast at the Cercle d’Aumale in Paris, which pays homage to Henri d’Orléans, Duke of Aumale, to whom we owe the stunning Domain of Chantilly. The prestigious Prix de Diane Longines – a thrilling day of events with no less than eight thoroughbred races – is the world’s most important race for fillies. For the occasion, the Chantilly racecourse will delight the tens of thousands of spectators with decor inspired by jockey silks: graphic adornments and lovely colours creating a lively and playful atmosphere.

The traditional equestrian event Prix de Diane Longines is also a chance to attend two races the brand lends its name to: the Prix Longines Future Racing Stars and the Prix de la Reine Marie-Amélie Longines, in which young jockeys from all over the world and FEGENTRI (International Federation of Gentlemen and Lady Riders) riders compete. Longines is pleased to time the races, showcase up-and-coming talent and racing amateurs, as well as award the winners with elegant timepieces.

This year, Longines is especially proud to welcome its Ambassador of Elegance, the Australian actor and racing enthusiast Simon Baker, who is sure to add an elegant touch to the event. Simon Baker will have the pleasure of being present at the event’s main race. At the end of the Prix de Diane Longines and accompanied by representatives of the brand, he will present elegant Longines watches to the winning filly’s team.

The “Mademoiselle Diane par Longines” award will be held, like every year, at the Village de Diane, where the 10 most elegant female spectators from the event will showcase their most beautiful outfits for a chance to win the renowned award. Simon Baker will present the winner with the event’s Official Watch, a steel and rose gold model from the Record collection featuring a mother-of-pearl dial adorned with diamond indexes. This piece, alongside other Longines collections, will be showcased at the Longines boutique at the Village de Diane.

Longines Ambassador of Elegance Stefanie Graf opens the doors of her foundation in Hamburg

On February 27, 2019, Stefanie Graf and her foundation, Children for Tomorrow, were pleased to welcome Swiss watch brand Longines in Hamburg (GER). Initiated by the German tennis legend in 1998, the institute - located at the University clinic of Hamburg Eppendorf - assists children and families who have been victims of war, persecution and violence.

Stefanie Graf says: “Longines has been so generous and supportive to what is dear to my heart, my foundation Children for Tomorrow. For over 20 years we have specialized in treatment with our trauma therapy providing care to as many children as possible who have suffered through war, exile and violence.  These inner wounds are so often overlooked. Raising awareness for what these children have to endure and what is needed to heal them is the mission of Children for Tomorrow.  We want to give as many children as possible a new perspective for a healthy future.”

The non-profit organization brings light to the sensitive issue of refugees and their psychological well-being. A qualified team of specialists helps the children and teenagers to overcome their traumas with different psychological treatments and activities, such as art therapy. This Wednesday, a watchmaker from Longines was present at the foundation to initiate the children to his craftsmanship.

This event also gave the opportunity for Stefanie Graf and Longines to reaffirm their long lasting partnership, initiated in 2008 and celebrated last summer through the auction sale of 10 limited “Conquest V.H.P. Stefanie Graf & Andre Agassi Foundations” watch sets. All proceeds were donated to Children for Tomorrow and The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, two charities founded by the two Ambassadors of Elegance.

Elegance of the heart

Longines’ fundamental values of excellence and elegance have always led it to pursue and promote the highest social ideals. In this regard, the winged hourglass brand has forged various partnerships over the years to channel its support for different charitable organizations.

Walter von Känel, President of Longines says: “Longines’ core values have always led the brand to serve philanthropic purposes. We are particularly proud and honoured to work alongside the Children for Tomorrow Foundation, helping children and their families to build a better future. The altruism, dedication and generosity shown by its founder, Longines Ambassador of Elegance Stefanie Graf, are a source of inspiration and a perfect illustration of the true elegance – the elegance of a generous heart – so dear to our brand.” Stefanie Graf adds: “I am extremely grateful to represent a company like Longines, rich in history, tradition, quality and craftsmanship.  We share a commitment to making a difference in other people’s lives. Giving and caring is a big part of who they are.”

About Children for Tomorrow

Children for Tomorrow is a non-profit foundation with the goal of supporting and initiating projects that provide assistance to children and families who have become victims of war, persecution and violence. These children have withstood terrifying experiences, some having lost their parents and close relatives. As a result of their psychological traumas, some have suffered from or still have sleep disorders, nightmares, depression or other symptoms. In order to overcome these traumas, psychotherapeutic therapy conducted by trained and qualified personnel is required. The financial resources from the Children for Tomorrow foundation serve to heal the psychological wounds within. For more information, visit www.children-for-tomorrow.com/
