Longines Global Champions Tour of Madrid 2019

The fifth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour, of which Longines is the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper, ended this Sunday in Madrid. The weekend’s highlight trial, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Madrid, was marked by the victory of Martin Fuchs (SUI) on Chaplin. To celebrate his achievement the Swiss rider was awarded an elegant Longines timepiece.

Over the weekend, Longines was proud to highlight its Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” model as the Official Watch of the event. This timepiece represents a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance. This timepiece houses an exclusive movement, renowned for its high degree of precision for an analog watch (± 5 seconds/year) and its ability to reset its hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field.

The fourth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour gathered this weekend some of the world’s best riders and horses in Shanghai in front of the impressive 63-meter high China Art Palace. As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Tour, Longines was proud to be associated with the highlight of the Chinese stage, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Shanghai.

Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aaron Kwok attended the event on Saturday, and witnessed the victory of Danielle Goldstein on Lizziemary in the featured competition. The multi-talented artist and Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aaron Kwok, together with Dennis Li, Vice President of Longines China presented her with an elegant Longines timepiece to celebrate her achievement.

Over the weekend, Longines was proud to highlight a model of the Conquest V.H.P. collection as the Official Watch of the event. Representing a new achievement in the field of quartz, this line combines great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance.

Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Mexico - Coapexpan 2019

On Sunday 5 May 2019, Team Mexico (composed of Patricio Pasquel on Babel, Manuel Gonzalez Dufrane on Hortensia van de Leeuwerk, Lorenza O’Farrill on Queens Darling and Salvador Onate on Big Red) claimed the title at the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Mexico in Coapexpan. Team America took second place ahead of Team Canada. The Swiss watchmaking brand was also proud to present another highlight of the event, the Longines Grand Prix, held on Friday 3 May 2019. This international show jumping competition displayed a 100% Mexican podium with the victory of Lorenza O’Farrill on Calvira, followed by compatriots Andrea Azcarraga on Contendros and Gerardo Pasquel Mendez on Mighty Mouse. Longines had the pleasure to grant the winners of both competitions with elegant watches as a reward for their great performance.

 

In addition, this event was also the perfect opportunity for the brand to present the Official Watch, a new model form the iconic HydroConquest collection. Drawing its inspiration from the fascinating world of water sports, this line combines technical excellence and traditional elegance, both distinguishing hallmarks of the brand.

Longines FEI World Cup China League - 1st Leg

On Wednesday 1st May 2019, Patrick Lam (HKG) and his mount Newtime de Baussy claimed the title at the first leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM China League in Tianjin. Chinese riders Yuxing Ma on Elly van de Boslandhoeve and Jirigala Erdeng on Brikibo vd Bosbeek took second and third place respectively. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and watch of the event, Longines was proud to grant Patrick Lam an elegant watch to celebrate his great win.

This event was also a great opportunity for the brand to the Official Watch, the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” model, representing a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance.

The third leg of the Longines Masters series, of which Longines is the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper, started off on Friday with the much-anticipated Longines Speed Challenge, in which the riders have to achieve the quickest time, knowing that a fault only leads to a two-second penalty instead of the usual four. This intense event was claimed by Nayel Nassar riding Lucifer V, in front of Kristen Vanderveen on   Bull Run's Faustino de Tili and Olivier Philippaerts on Insolente Des Dix Bonniers.

 

On that evening, the brand had the pleasure to welcome its Friends of the Brand, French model Ilonat Smet, Canadian producer Alen Palander and Taiwanese actor and singer Marcus Chang, who had already joined Longines during the previous legs of this indoor series in Paris and Hong Kong, thus marking the conclusion of an exceptional journey across the continents.

On Saturday, Longines was proud to support as its Founding Partner the Riders Masters Cup, an innovative show-jumping competition that pits the two major equestrian powers, the United States and Europe, against each other in a transatlantic battle. Team Europe, made up of : Pius Schwizer, Edward Levy, Olivier Philippaerts, Darragh Kenny and Harrie Smolders, took the limelight once again following their victory last December, in Paris.

 

Finally, Sunday afternoon brought to the Longines Masters of New York a thrilling conclusion with a new remarkable victory of Nayel Nassar, his second of the weekend, in the coveted Longines Grand Prix, the final highlight of the weekend. Harrie Smodlers (NED) on Une de l'Othain secured second place, while Olivier Philippaerts (BEL) on H&M Cue Channa 42 took the third place. To celebrate his great achievement, the Egyptian rider was rewarded with the event’s iconic trophy, as well as an elegant Longines timepiece from the hands of Matthieu Baumgartner, Longines Vice President Marketing.

Longines becomes the Title Partner of the Longines PfingstTurnier Wiesbaden

Passionate about the equestrian world since its very beginnings, the Swiss watch brand Longines is delighted to further strengthen its links with the equestrian sports by becoming the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the Longines PfingstTurnier Wiesbaden. This international fixture, initiated 90 years ago already by the WRFC, will take place from June 7 to 10 June 2019 at the Biebrich Schlosspark and feature events in four disciplines: show jumping, dressage, eventing and vaulting. It will conclude with the highlight trial, the Longines Grand Prix Großer Preis der Landeshauptstadt Wiesbaden, to which Longines is proud to lend its name.

Longines’ passion for equestrian world dates back to 1869, when it produced a pocket watch engraved with a proud horse head. In 1912 already, the Swiss watch brand first partnered with an international show jumping competition in Portugal. Today, Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes show jumping, dressage, driving, endurance and eventing competitions, as well as horse racing.
