What makes this timepiece exceptional

Longines registered the Ultra-Chron trademark in Switzerland on October 28, 1966. The entire collection is defined by the high-frequency movement that powers it. In terms of serial production, it is one of the most precise watches of this era: Ultra-Chron, short for Ultra-Chronometer, implies that this watch is more accurate than a traditional chronometer. The Longines Ultra-Chron was the last mechanical watch to match the precision of electronic watches of its time. Exceptionally, the piece on display here has never been sold or worn, as evidenced by its exemplary condition.
