At each edition of the Commonwealth Games, Longines’ timekeepers, scorers, sporting specialists and data handlers, accompanied by the world’s most advanced timekeeping and scoring equipment, make their expertise available to the sporting federations and the talented athletes from throughout the Commonwealth.
Longines will be the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper for Victoria 2026 and the 2030 Commonwealth Games.
A brief history: Perth 1962 Commonwealth Games In 1962 at the Commonwealth Games in Perth, performance was tested to its very limits - but not just on the track. Because it was here that Longines’ state-of-the-art equipment and its expertise and performance as Official Timekeeper at the “heat, dust, and glory” Games formed the basis of the brand’s longstanding partnership with the Commonwealth Games.
Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games
Taking up the role that it held in Perth, Longines took part in the Commonwealth Games as Official Partner, Official Timekeeper, and Official Watch of the Glasgow 2014. The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games presented 18 sports over the 11 days of the competition.
Longines, acting in its role as Official Timekeeper, was on hand for all 261 medal events contested at the Games, including the outstanding performances in a record 22 Para Sport events in five different sports. As Official Timekeeper, Longines is always proud to adapt its expertise to the unique needs of each new or changing sporting event.
Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games
At the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Longines delivered its official timing and scoring to displays at each of the Games’ 18 venues and also fed the results to global broadcasters around the world. Along with its role as Official Timekeeper, Longines was the Presenting Partner of Gymnastics and Athletics (Track & Field) and Co-Presenting Partner of Rugby 7s and Table Tennis.
