Alpine Skiing
Since its first chronograph model was created in 1878 to this day, Longines has always been a pioneer in timekeeping. Driven by its spirit of innovation and its interest in the world of sport, the brand has been associated with alpine skiing since the early 20th century. It all began in 1924, when for the first time Longines provided the timekeeping equipment for a military ski race organised not far from its manufacture in Saint-Imier, Switzerland.
Bringing its timekeeping expertise to bear, Longines is now the main partner of the International Ski Federation (FIS). The brand has also secured an active presence in winter sports as the Official Timekeeper of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and FIS World Championships.

The brand has played a role in the development of the discipline ever since by devising ever more advanced timekeeping systems. The latest innovation is the Longines Live Alpine Data, which enables live measurement of very accurate data on the skiers during competition.
Used by athletes, coaches and audiovisual production professionals, this data helps to give the spectators an even richer experience.
