Today a talented Alpine skier, Alexis Monney (born in 2000), joined the Longines Ski Athletes’ family in 2024. He began skiing at the age of two near his home in the winter resort of Les Paccots (SUI). At the age of 12, after practicing various sports, he decided to concentrate on skiing with the help of his father, an experienced former coach of a successful Swiss downhill skier.
Alexis’ dedication and years of rigorous training have paid off. He won the gold medal in downhill at the 2020 FIS Junior World Championships in Narvik (NOR), before joining the Swiss ski team for the 2020–2021 season and entering the World Cup circuit.
From the 2022–2023 season onwards, he achieved his first notable results in the winter classics, finishing 10th in Wengen (SUI), 11th in Kitzbühel (AUT), and 18th at the World Championships in Courchevel–Méribel (FRA).
In the 2023–2024 season, he finished 13th in Bormio (ITA), 12th in Wengen and 20th in Kitzbühel.
He confirmed his potential in the 2024–2025 season by winning his first World Cup downhill race in Bormio (ITA) and securing four additional podium finishes, including a second place in the downhill in Kitzbühel. He finished 9th overall in the World Cup standings, 8th in super-G and 3rd in downhill.
At the FIS World Championships in Saalbach (AUT), he won a silver medal in the team combined event and a bronze medal in downhill.
