Lenzerheide marks the end of a prolific season for Longines' athletes

Although impacted by the global pandemic, the 2020/2021 FIS Alpine World Cup season saw some great performances from the world's best athletes, including members of the Longines Family.

Longines would like to congratulate Marco Odermatt and Loïc Meillard, who finished second and fourth on the overall FIS World Cup ranking for 2020/2021, a worthy recognition of their talent. Marco has stepped up to the podium no less than ten times this season, with three of them being in the top spot (two victories in giant slalom and one in super-G). This flawless track record saw him finish second in the giant slalom ranking and second in the super-G ranking.

Loïc Meillard ended his highly successful World Cup season with thirteen Top 5 positions, including second place in Kranjska Gora and third in Adelboden for the giant slalom.

The most recent arrival to the Longines Family is Clément Noël from France, who finished the FIS World Cup season by standing on the second step of the podium in his specialist sport, slalom, a discipline that has already seen him bring home two victories this season in Kranjska Gora and Chamonix.

For the women's division, the Longines Ambassador of Elegance Mikaela Shiffrin finished in second place in the slalom and giant slalom category, after two victories in Flachau and Jasna for the slalom and one victory in Courchevel for the giant slalom.

The FIS World Cup Finals are also an opportunity for Longines to showcase the White Circus' young talents by handing out the Longines Rising Ski Star award, a price that rewards the World Cup season's best young male skier (under 23) and best female skier (under 21). The brand was also delighted to award a Longines watch, a trophy and a cheque to Alex Vinatzer (ITA) and Alice Robinson (NZL), who both received this award for the second year in a row.
