Best Alliance galloped to victory in the Longines Cup at the 2020 Longines Night Races

On October 28, 2020, at Happy Valley racecourse (HK SAR), Longines was proud to time the Longines Night Races: the much-awaited horseracing event kicking off the Longines Hong Kong International Races week. Best Alliance galloped to victory, ridden by jockey Keith Yeung in that evening’s highlight race, the Longines Cup. The winning owner, jockey and trainer each received an elegant Longines timepiece, presented by Ms. Nancy Tse, Vice President of Longines Hong Kong.

During the event, the brand highlighted a black-dial model from the Longines Spirit collection, designed in the same manner as the Longines timepieces of the famous pioneers as they conquered the air, land and sea. All models from the Longines Spirit line come with state-of-the-art Chronometer-certified movements, as well as a 5-year warranty.

As part of its partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, the Swiss watch brand is also proud to be the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines Hong Kong International Races on Sunday December 13 and the Longines International Jockeys’ Championship on Wednesday December 9.

Longines’ passion for equestrian sports dates back to 1878, when it produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and its horse that could be used for precise timing to a second. As of 1881, this model was extremely popular among jockeys and horse-lovers, and was soon being used by most of the sports judges in New York. Today, Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes horseracing, show jumping, driving, eventing and dressage competitions.
