FIS Ski World Cup Finales Ladies and Men St-Moritz
The Longines Rising Ski Stars prizes awarded once again to Mikaela Shiffrin and Henrik Kristoffersen
After an excellent start to the season, followed by a knee injury that kept her away from the slopes for several months, Mikaela Shiffrin bounced back with two slalom victories in Crans Montana and Jasna, as well as today in St. Moritz, her sixth slalom win of the season. Henrik Kristoffersen also had an exceptional season, winning no less than six slalom victories, which assured him the crystal globe for the discipline. Both talented athletes received a Longines watch, a trophy, as well as a cheque. The award ceremony was held today, following the women’s slalom and men’s giant slalom.
In the same spirit of commitment to young sports talents, the Swiss watchmaker organized, earlier in the week, the third edition of the Longines Future Ski Champions race. This competition brought together 14 young international skiers under the age of 16, who faced off in a giant slalom event on the FIS World Cup’s official course. The Longines 2016 Future Ski Champions event was won by Austria’ Joshua Sturm, who was awarded a new Longines watch, as well as a trophy.
