Longines dives into the HydroConquest universe during a special event in Singapore attended by Aaron Kwok

Drawing its inspiration from the fascinating world of water sports, the HydroConquest collection combines technical excellence and traditional elegance, both distinguishing hallmarks of Longines. The Swiss watch brand chose the rooftop of The Fullerton Bay Hotel in Singapore, with its breathtaking views of the sea and the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel, to present the emblematic sports line’s new models, which preserve the traditional style of diving watches.

A coloured ceramic insert has been added to the bezel of the new HydroConquest models. This highly technical and scratch-resistant material enhances the sporty, modern character of the watches. The HydroConquest collection is inspired by the unique requirements of scuba diving and features water-resistance to 300 metres, a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screw-down crown and case back, crown protection and a double security folding clasp with integrated diving extension.

“The demand for sports watches, and especially for diving style watches, has increased significantly these past few years,” explains Walter von Känel, President of Longines. “We are delighted to introduce our new HydroConquest models with ceramic, as these watches will appeal to dynamic individuals looking for distinctive, contemporary timepieces.”

After making an appearance at the opening of the new Longines Boutique in Marina Bay Sands, Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aaron Kwok attended the HydroConquest event. The multi-talented artist shared his opinion of the new HydroConquest models. “As a watch lover, I really appreciate the bezel’s ceramic insert. These watches have a sporty silhouette and an elegant style, making them suitable for daily wear and appropriate for all occasions. The new HydroConquest models’ fresh look complements all attire”

Besides the current collection with an aluminum insert on the bezel, the new HydroConquest models’ ceramic insert is available in several colors to adorn the wrists of all water sports enthusiasts. These models come in blue, black or grey, with a dial that matches the bezel’s ceramic insert and rubber strap, while the metal version combines polished and brushed steel for a truly impressive finish. Available in two sizes (41 mm and 43 mm), these HydroConquest timepieces offer the choice of three hands and a calendar or a chronograph.

White Turf - 3rd Raceday

After three Sundays of breathtaking races, the Longines 80. Grosser Preis von St. Moritz saw the victory of Kieren Fox on Berrahri, followed by Eddy Hardouin on Jungleboogie and Kieran O'Neill on Nimrod. With its CHF 111’111 prizemoney, this race was the highest endowed in Switzerland. Longines was proud to be once again the Official Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch.

After these three Sunday races, Longines honored Dennis Schiergen, the best jockey of the competition, with the “Longines Jockey Silver Trophy”.

Since 1907, the annual White Turf St. Moritz event takes place on the frozen lake of the Graubünden renowned tourist resort during three Sundays in February. Attracting more than 30,000 visitors yearly, it is considered as one of the sporting and social highlight in the winter calendar. This year, the event celebrates its 80th Grosser Preis von St. Moritz and takes place on February 3, 10 and 17.

The links between the Swiss watch brand and St. Moritz date back over a century. Indeed, in 1894, Longines sent two chronographs fitted with a proprietary hand-wound movement to the famous town in the Engadin valley. This marked the start of regular partnerships for timekeeping activities, particularly for alpine skiing, gymnastics and horse racing events.

Since 2015, Longines is the Official Partner and Watch of St. Moritz. In the context of this partnership, the Tourist Office, the Swiss Ski School and the ski lifts of the glamorous alpine destination are featuring the colours of our brand.

The Official Watch of the event is an elegant model from the Record collection that features a mother-of-pearl dial and is set with diamonds. The Record range combines classic elegance and excellence, aspiring to become the spearheads of the brand. Each of its calibers includes a single-crystal silicon balance spring with unique properties and is certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

Longines has been associated with the equestrian world since its inception. The oldest known Longines watch decorated with equestrian motifs dates from 1869, and ushered in a handsome series of equestrian-themed pocket watches. The brand’s early ties with horses encouraged the watchmakers of Saint-Imier to pursue advances in sports timekeeping for equestrian competitions. In 1878, the winged hourglass brand developed its first chronograph movement, the legendary 20H. Today, Longines is passionately committed to the equestrian world and its various disciplines.
