The magical harbor of Monte-Carlo has offered a spectacular venue for the ninth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour. This three-day competition of top-class show jumping was marked by the victory of Shane Breen riding Ipswich van de Wolfsakker in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco on Saturday. This victory handed him the ninth golden ticket to the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix, where he will line up against the winners of the previous legs. Longines Ambassador of Elegance Jung Woo-Sung presented the Irish rider with an elegant Longines timepiece in recognition for his great performance.

Longines was indeed honored to welcome the new Ambassador of Elegance Jung Woo-Sung in this prestigious equestrian rendezvous as the praised South Korean actor, accomplished director and producer, perfectly expresses Longines’ motto “Elegance is an attitude”.

On Friday evening, Mona Ferry and Christian Rhomberg claimed victory at the Longines Pro-Am Cup, supported by Charlotte Casiraghi as the Patron of this competition. This trial allows an amateur and professional rider to compete together for the coveted title, with a focus on speed and agility. The Swiss watch brand participated in this competition with a team made up of Longines Ambassador of Elegance Jane Richard Philips and her husband Ignace Philips. They took the fifth place during this prestigious competition.

The Official Watch of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Monaco is a ladies model from the Record collection, featuring a white mother-of-pearl dial and diamond indexes. This line combines classic elegance and excellence, aspiring to become the spearheads of the brand.

Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Netherlands - Stichting CHIO Rotterdam

Made up of Nicola Philippaerts, Niels Bruynseels, Jos Verlooy and Pieter Devos, Team Belgium claimed a back-to-back victory at the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of The Netherlands in Rotterdam, on Sunday June 24th. They finished ahead of Team Germany (second) while Team US, Team Netherlands and Team Switzerland shared third place.

On June 22, the brand presented the Longines Grand Prix of Rotterdam, won by Jos Verlooy (BEL) on Caracas. To celebrated these outstanding performance, Longines awarded the riders with elegant timepieces.

Official launch of the Longines Tracking System at Royal Ascot

Ascot (UK) / Saint-Imier (Switzerland), 21 June 2018 – Longines and Ascot Racecourse are proud to announce the official launch of the Swiss watch brand’s innovative Longines Tracking System, which was successfully inaugurated during the prestigious Royal Meeting, on Wednesday 20th of June. Ascot Racecourse thus becomes the first racecourse to be equipped with the system. This game-changing timing and tracking system – a world premiere in the horse racing industry – provides instant data on the exact position of horses during a race, race rankings, the distance between horses as well as their acceleration and deceleration. In addition, it measures the horses’ covered and remaining distance in the race.

Entirely based on satellite data, the Longines Tracking System boasts extreme accuracy, without any permanent installation on the racecourse, as required by the currently existing tracking systems. Developed in collaboration with Swiss Timing, the system represents a technological break-through in the horseracing industry, as it enables the most prestigious racecourses across the globe – including those located in protected historical or natural sites - to have access to such advanced technologies.

Longines’ passion for equestrian sports dates back more than 140 years. In 1878 already, it produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his mount.  Seen on the racetracks as early as 1881 and extremely popular among jockeys and horse-lovers, this model enabled its user to time performances to the second. After celebrating its ten-year partnership with Ascot in 2016, Longines proudly announced last week the renewal of its long-lasting association with the Berkshire racecourse. Under this agreement, the brand becomes an Official Partner of Ascot and continues its designation as Official Timekeeper and Watch. At Royal Ascot, the brand is also given an elevated profile, which includes stalls branding, on Wednesdays.

This day was thus chosen by Longines to invite its Ambassador of Elegance, acclaimed Asian actor Eddie Peng, to experience the Royal Meeting’s unique atmosphere. Following the remarkable victory of Kew Gardens in the Queens’ Vase, Eddie Peng, together with Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing Juan-Carlos Capelli, presented Longines timepieces to the winning owners, lad, trainer Aidan O’Brien, jockey Ryan Moore. Later on that day, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall rewarded the winning connections of Poet’s Word with the brand’s timepieces as well.


In line with the refinement of the Royal Meeting, Longines is highlighting the Record collection as the Official Watch of the event. The automatic models in this line combine classic elegance and excellence, aspiring to become the spearheads of the brand. As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of Royal Ascot, the Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to reward Calyx’s winning owner, trainer, lad and jockey – Frankie Dettori, winner of the 2015 Longines World’s Best Jockey – with elegant Longines timepieces, following their victory in the Coventry Stakes. Later in the day, Her Royal Highness Princess Anne also presented the King’s Stand Stakes winners with watches from the brand.


Characterized by the most traditional English sartorial elegance, Royal Ascot was the equestrian rendezvous chosen by the brand to invite the American rider Ariana Rockefeller and UK couple Ali Gordon and Lydia Millen to take part in a photo shoot featuring the Official Watch of the event, a ladies’ model and a gent’s model from the Record collection. Combining classic elegance with excellence, all timepieces in this line integrate a silicon balance spring with unique properties, and are certified as “chronometers” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
