After seven days of competition, ten world records have already been broken at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, which is one more than the last Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where nine world records were broken.
The latest world record to be broken was by Nigerian female athlete Esther Oyema, who broke the world record in the women’s up to 50kg in the Powerlifting competition, where she lifted and impressive 131kg.
Longines, as Official Timekeeper and Partner of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, is set to acknowledge all world record holders with the Longines Records Ceremony at Longines Records Club, in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.
Athletes or teams who break the world record and participate in the Longines Records Ceremony will be presented with the Conquest V.H.P. Commonwealth Games watch.
