Archery World Cup Final 2018

The sport of Archery represents the values cherished by Longines – Tradition, Elegance and Performance. To succeed, the athletes must master bow and arrow through concentration, balance, and accuracy. The Swiss watch brand is thus proud to serve as the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the Archery World Cup season since 2008. The tour started in April in Shanghai, China then visited Antalya, Turkey and Salt Lake City, USA. At the fourth and last stage of the Archery World Cup in Berlin, Germany, 32 elite athletes earner their tickets to the Samsun 2018 Archery World Cup Final.

 

To round off the Archery World Cup season, Longines presented the Longines Prize for Precision on Sunday 30, following the recurve final. Female athlete Hye Jin Chang and male athlete Woo Seok Lee, both from South Korea, were the most precise archers of the 2018 World Cup in their respective category. Having scored the most “10 rings” during the qualifications and the tournaments of the season, they received each a Longines Prize for Precision-trophy, a Longines watch and a cheque.

 

In Samsun, the Official Watch of the event was a Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” model featuring a silver dial. This timepiece is equipped with an exclusive movement renowned for its high degree of precision (± 5 seconds/year) and its ability to reset its hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field. These attractive features are completed by a very long battery life and a perpetual calendar.

From October 15-22, in Mexico City took place the Archery World Championships, of which the Swiss watch brand in the Official Partner and Timekeeper. As such, the brand presented elegant Longines watches to the winners in the compound category, Sébastien Peineau (FRA) and Song Yun Soo (South Korea), as well as in the recurve category, Im Dong Hyun (South Korea) and Ksenia Perova (Russia) in recognition of their remarkable performance.

A model from the Conquest collection has been chosen as the Official Watch for the 2017 Archery World Championships. This chronograph, featuring a sunray black dial, meets the highest standards in precision for sports and contains a unique movement that surpasses previous generations.

Longines plays a key role in timing the competitors and presenting the results for all the contests in the Archery World Cup circuit, as well as the Archery World Championships. Over the entire Archery World Cup season, starting with the first event in China – followed by three other stages in Antalya, Turkey; Salt Lake City, USA; and Berlin, Germany – the world's best archers in each of the four competition categories tried to qualify for the coveted final, taking place this year in Rome. Joined by one host nation representative, in total 32 athletes took part in this highlight event of the international archery calendar.

In the compound category, USA’s Braden Gellenthien and Colombia’s Sarah Lopez claimed the 2017 World Cup title, while South Korea’s Kim Woojin and Ki Bo Bae were crowned winners in the recurve category. In addition, the Swiss watch brand Longines, Official Partner and Timekeeper of the circuit since 2008, presented the Longines Prize for Precision, in the form of a Longines timepiece, a trophy, and a cheque to compound archers Stephan Hansen and Sarah Sonnichsen, which have distinguished themselves as the athletes having scored the most “10s” throughout the whole season.

A model from The Longines Master Collection has been chosen as the Official Watch for the 2017 Archery World Cup Final. St. Imier (Switzerland) / Odense (Denmark), 25 September 2016 – The 11th edition of archery’s annual international circuit ended this weekend in the Danish city of Odense. The 2016 Archery World Cup Final gathered the 32 world’s best female and male athletes in both compound and recurve categories. Proudly serving as the Official Partner and Timekeeper for the World Cup of the discipline, Longines rewarded its Longines Prize for Precision to USA’s Brady Ellison – four-time winner of the award – and Tapei’s Tan Ya-Ting, who scored the most “10s” throughout the entire season.

The tour started in May in Shanghai, China then visited Antalya, Turkey and Wroclaw, Poland. Athletes receive points for finishing in the top 32 at each event on the Archery World Cup circuit. At the fourth and last stage of the Archery World Cup in Medellin, Colombia, 32 elite athletes booked their invitations to the Mexico City 2015 Archery World Cup Final.
 
This sport represents the values that the brand cherishes – precision, tradition and elegance. To succeed, the athletes master bow and arrow through concentration, balance, accuracy, and skill. In Mexico City, the Official Watch of the event was a model from The Longines Master Collection. It features a silver-finished “barleycorn” patterned dial which makes an elegantly contrasting background to the moon-phase display.
 
To round up the Archery World Cup season, Longines presented the Longines Prize for Precision on Saturday 25, following the compound final. Female athlete Sara Lopez from Colombia and male athlete Mike Schloesser from the Netherlands were the most precise archers of the 2015 World Cup in the compound category. They have scored the most “10 rings” during the qualifications and the tournaments of the season. They each received a Longines Prize for Precision-trophy, a Longines watch and a cheque.

Longines – Official Partner & Timekeeper of the 2015 World Archery Championships
Longines was proud to be the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the 2015 World Archery Championships held from 26 July to 2 August in Copenhagen, Denmark. During this weekend’s finals, Denmark’s Stephan Hansen and Korea’s Kim Yun Hee were crowned as the men’s and women’s compound archery world champion. In the compound category was marked by the domination of Korea, with Kim Woojin and Ki Bo Bae both winning the gold medal of the discipline. The world champions were rewarded with elegant Longines watches.
