Culmination of an exciting 2017-2018 Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping season in Paris

The 2018 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final will take place at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris with Longines as its proud Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch. This much-awaited competition will start on Thursday 12 April 2018 with Round I, followed by Round II on the next day and the Final on Sunday. The participants of this major event have been accumulating the qualifying points during the regional leagues, notably the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Western European League, the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping North American League and the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping China League. The Swiss watchmaking brand is looking forward to crowning the new World Champion and to present him, along with the second and third, an elegant Longines timepiece.

 

In addition, the winged hourglass brand is delighted to be the Official Timekeeper of the competitions of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage Final. The three best riders of the final of this elegant discipline will be granted a Longines watch.

 

The 2018 edition of the Finals in Paris will be the perfect occasion for the spectators to discover the Official Watch of the event, the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” model, representing a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance. On Wednesday 11 April, Longines and the FEI will proudly distinguish for the first time the top jumping horse and rider of the year by presenting 2017 Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Horse and Rider Awards, during a ceremony held at the iconic Mairie de Paris. This celebration night will also include the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final and the FEI World Cup™ Dressage’s draws.

2017 Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Rider & Horse Awards Ceremony

Longines and the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) are delighted to celebrate equestrian excellence by presenting the Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Horse and Rider Awards to the 2017 world’s highest officially rated jumping horse and rider. The ceremony, the first of its kind, will take place at the iconic Mairie de Paris on Wednesday 11 April 2018 along with the FEI World Cup’s draws for the disciplines of Jumping and Dressage.

The Longines World’s Best Jumping Horse and Rider Awards will be presented in the form of magnificent crystal winged hourglasses in reference to the brand’s emblem. Those trophies can be admired in the Longines Museum in Saint-Imier (Switzerland). Furthermore, the winning rider and the representative of the winning horse will be granted an elegant Longines timepiece belonging to the Longines Saint-Imier Collection as well as a replica trophy.

Accumulating points throughout the whole calendar year, the Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Horse is determined from the horse’s 10 best results of the year in the Longines Rankings, whereas the Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Rider is the leading rider in the Longines Rankings at the end of the year.

Points for the Longines Rankings are accumulated in Grands Prix*, the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping and the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™, including the Finals, as well as the World and European Senior Championships. Double points are awarded at Finals and Championships.

Longines Global Champions Tour - Mexico City

2018 will see a formidable line up of 17 events across continents as the Longines Global Champions Tour circuit expands to bring top-level show jumping to new venues. Starting off with Mexico City this weekend, the Tour will then stop in Miami Beach, before continuing its journey through the world’s most iconic venues, such as Shanghai, Madrid, Paris, London, Rome and, for the first time, Saint-Tropez, in the context of the Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show. The Tour will finally conclude with the Longines Global Champions Super Grand Prix in Prague, where the winners of each Grand Prix will be invited to compete for the coveted title.

As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Tour, the Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to be associated with the highlight of the Mexican stage, the Longines Global Champions Grand Prix of Mexico City, claimed by Scott Brash on Ursula XII. The British rider was rewarded with an elegant Longines timepiece from the hands of Edith Chavez, Brand Manager of Longines Mexico.

The Latin-American leg of the 2018 Longines Global Champions Tour was an opportunity for the brand to highlight the Official Watch of the event, the new Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” model, representing a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance. She was followed by compatriot Brianne Goutal-Marteau on Viva Colombia and Swiss rider Beat Mändli on Galan S. On Sunday 25 February 2018, Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) claimed victory at home on Mary Lou 194 winning the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping in Gothenburg. The talented couple already took the first place at the same leg one year ago. Belgium’s Olivier Philippaerts on H&M Legend of Love arrived second followed by Michael Whitaker (GBR) on JB’s Hot Stuff. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the entire series, Longines was proud to grant Henrik von Eckermann with an elegant Longines timepiece as a reward for his great win.
