Longines Global Champions Tour of Doha 2019

The 2019 edition will see a formidable line up of 20 events across continents as the Longines Global Champions Tour circuit expands to bring top-level show jumping to new venues. Indeed, three new breathtaking destinations join the circuit this year: Stockholm, Montreal and New York, making a significant footprint spanning The Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. For the first time, the opening leg of the series was staged in Doha in the magnificent AL SHAQAB Equestrian Centre. The Tour will then head to iconic destinations such as Mexico City, Shanghai, Monaco, Paris and Rome. The prestigious final event of the season will take in New York on Governors Island. Last but not least, the circuit will conclude with the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix in Prague, which gathers the winners of each Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix leg for the ultimate battle.

As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Tour, the Swiss watch brand Longines was delighted to witness the victory of Julien Epaillard (FRA) on Usual Suspect d’Auge in the weekend’s highlight trial, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Doha. This victory handed him the first golden ticket to the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix, where he will line up against the winners of the next legs. Ben Maher (GBR) on Explosion W and Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) on H&M Chilli Willi secured second and third place respectively.

Over the weekend, spectators had the opportunity to discover the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” Chronograph model, representing a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance. Equipped with an exclusive movement renowned for its high degree of precision for an analog watch (± 5 seconds/year) and its ability to reset its hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field, the Conquest V.H.P. positioned itself as the standard-bearer of extreme precision.
