In exactly one year’s time, leading athletes from 72 nations and territories will come together to compete in one of the world’s most important sporting events - the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the event, Longines is privileged to mark this key moment in the journey towards this highly anticipated sporting event with the Longines Countdown Clock in Birmingham’s Centenary Square.

Ticking down to the opening ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games on 28 July 2022, this countdown clock was unveiled in March 2020 to underscore the first ever multi-Commonwealth Games partnership between Longines and the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) for the next three editions of the Commonwealth Games, starting with Birmingham 2022. Widely known for its timekeeping expertise, Longines was originally a partner of the Perth 1962 Commonwealth Games and renewed its partnership for Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018, underlying the brand’s longstanding contribution to precision in timekeeping in the world of sports.

With this historic partnership, Longines strives to foster excellence in various sports disciplines, particularly in Athletics, Gymnastics, Rugby Sevens and Table Tennis. Driven by its universally recognized excellence in sports timekeeping, Longines continues to cement the event’s world-class status by ensuring the timing and scoring equipment of the highest precision in the upcoming Games.
