    Longines Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby

    On Saturday, September 5, Longines was proud to time the victory of Authentic, ridden by John Velazquez, in the 146th Kentucky Derby in Louisville (USA). To mark their remarkable victory in what is considered “the most exciting two minutes in sports”, the Swiss watchmaker awarded Authentic’s owner, trainer and jockey with Longines timepieces. Second place was taken by Tiz The Law followed by Mr. Big News. Earlier that day, the Longines Churchill Distaff Turf Mile prize was claimed by Beau Recall, ridden by Manuel Franco, who established a lead over Newspaperofrecord, close behind.   On Friday, September 4, Longines also served as Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the Longines Kentucky Oaks, with an exciting win from Shedaresthedevil and Florent Geroux.   This weekend, fans from all over the country showed their Oaks and Derby style from home in the Kentucky Derby Fashion Contest by Longines.     As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the Longines Grosser Preis von Baden, ran on September 13 on the Iffezheim racecourse, Longines was proud to time the eleven races of the day, including the eponymous race, won by Barney Roy, ridden by James Doyle, ahead of Communique and Torquator Tasso.     Longines Balve Optimum

    Last weekend, Longines was proud to be the Title Partner, Official Watch and Official Timekeeper of the Longines Balve Optimum 2020. The equestrian competition takes place every summer since 1948 in the German town of Balve. This year, the dressage event was held from September 18 to 20.   On Sunday, Isabell Werth won the Grand Prix with 90.825%, followed by Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (89.35%) and Dorothee Schneider (81.6%).     The Longines Balve Optimum 2020 was a great opportunity for the brand to highlight its Official Watch, a model from The Longines Master Collection.     Swiss Jumping Championship Elite presented by Longines

    The Final of the Swiss Jumping Championship Elite was held on September 5th in Humlikon in the context of the LerchPartner.ch CSI Humlikon of which the Swiss watchbrand Longines is the Presenting Partner and Official Watch. Climax of the Longines Championship Series, the Final gathered Switzerland's best riders. Longines Friend of the Brand Bryan Balsiger and Aks Courage jumped to victory ahead of Niklaus Schurtenberger on Ouincassi, second and Martin Fuchs on Stalando, third. Bryan Balsiger was granted an elegant Longines timepiece from the hands of Christophe Jeanneret, Swiss Market Brand Manager.   In 2019, the Swiss watchmaking brand based In St. Imier became the Main Partner of the Swiss Equestrian Federation and its discipline of Show Jumping, thus enhancing Longines' commitment to equestrian sports on a national level. As part of this agreement, the Swiss watchmaking brand lends its name to the series "Longines Championship Series" comprising all national qualifiers for the Swiss Jumping Championship Elite.

    Longines Global Champions Tour of New York

    Gathering the best international riders and horses in the world’s most beautiful cities for nineteen legs, the Longines Global Champions Tour ended, for the very first time, in a blaze of glory in the vibrant city New York. On Saturday, Ben Maher on Explosion W shined in the weekend’s highlight competition, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of New York. In recognition of his great performance, the winner received an elegant timepiece from the hands of Charles Villoz, Longines Vice President Sales and Andre Agassi, Ambassador of Elegance for the brand. In addition, as New York marked the end of the season, the results obtained by the riders enabled the establishment of the final 2019 overall Longines Global Champions Tour ranking. He was also officially crowned winner of the 2019 Longines Global Champions Tour, while Pieter Devos (BEL) and Daniel Deusser (GER) secured second and third place respectively. In order to honour their outstanding achievements during this year, all three were granted elegant Longines timepieces from the hands of Charles Villoz, Longines Vice President Sales together with Andre Agassi, Longines Ambassador of Elegance and Pascal Savoy, Longines Brand President US.     37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships 2019

    As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships 2019 in Baku, Longines was proud to celebrate the outstanding performances of its Ambassadors of Elegance, the twin sisters Arina and Dina Averina. The latter took part in five events at the World Championships and won five medals, 4 gold, including the coveted individual All-around title. The former finished second in the Ball and Individual All-around finals. The Official Watch of the event is a ladies model from The Longines Master Collection Blue Edition, which displays a sunray blue dial with diamond indexes matching its blue alligator strap.   In addition, Longines was proud to present the Longines Prize for Elegance to USA’s Laura Zeng. She distinguished herself from all participants of the all-around finals for the grace, beauty, harmony, and above all elegance of her performance, a value cherished by Longines. The jury of the Longines Prize for Elegance comprised Morinari Watanabe, President of the International Gymnastics Federation, Benjamin Aeby, International Sponsorship & Events Manager, and Yana Batyrshina, former rhythmic gymnast and ambassador of the event. Set up in 1997, the Longines Prize for Elegance takes the form of a trophy representing a gymnast in movement created especially for Longines by the Swiss artist Jean-Pierre Gerber. In addition, the winner received an elegant Longines timepiece and a cheque.   Longines and gymnastics For over thirty years, the brand has been the Official Partner and Timekeeper for artistic and rhythmic gymnastics competitions organized by the International Gymnastics Federation. At these events, Longines provides the necessary infrastructure and personnel for calculating times, presenting scores, processing data (start lists, results, and medals) and displaying it on the results screens, on the commentators’ information system as well as transmitting it to the television companies that are covering the competitions.

    As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship, Longines was proud to time the victories of Jason Foley on Rockwell RC, Katrin Eckermann on Chao Lee and Seamus Hughes-Kennedy on Cuffesgrange Cavadora in the 5 year-old, 6 year-old and 7 year-old category respectively.     On Sunday 15 September 2019, America’s Elizabeth Madden and her mount Garant earned first place at the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ North American League in New York. American rider Karl Cook on Caillou took second place followed by his compatriot Katherine A. Dinan on Brego R’n B. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the series, the Swiss watchmaking brand Longines was pleased to present the winner with an elegant watch. This world-class equestrian rendezvous was also the perfect opportunity for the spectators to discover the Official Watch of the event, a lady model from the Conquest Classic collection.     The Longines Irish Champions Weekend featured the QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown, won by Ryan Moore on Magical and the Comer Group International Irish St Leger at the Curragh, claimed by Chris Hayes on Search For A Song. Longines rewarded winning owners, trainers and jockeys of these two prestigious races with Longines watches. In addition, Longines presented the Longines Prize of Elegance at the Leopardstown and Curragh racetracks, and rewarded the most elegant lady and gent of each day with elegant timepieces.
