    49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2019

    As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the 49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Stuttgart (GER), Longines was proud to honour French gymnast Melanie de Jesus dos Santos and American gymnast Samuel Mikulak with the ultimate prize outside of competition: the Longines Prize for Elegance. All participants in the individual men and women allaround finals held respectively on Thursday 10 October and Friday 11 October were nominated for this elegant contest. The winners impressed the whole jury beyond technical considerations for the grace, beauty, harmony and above all, the elegance of their performance, a value cherished by Longines. They both received elegant Longines timepieces, as well as a trophy and a cheque.    In Stuttgart, the jury of the Longines Prize for Elegance comprised Rainer Eckert, Brand Manager Longines Germany, Morinari Watanabe, President of the International Gymnastics Federation, Catalina Ponor and Fabian Hambuechen, Women's and Men's Artistic Ambassadors for the 2019 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The jury's individual assessments were combined to form a collective judgement reflecting a perceptive and balanced evaluation of the gymnasts' performances.   Besides, Longines was delighted to support its Ambassador of Elegance, Swiss gymnast Giulia Steingruber. She finished eighteen among the world's best Artistic gymnasts in the individual All-around Final.   Last but not least, she was seen wearing the Official Watch of the event, a model from the Conquest Classic collection featuring a white mother-of-pearl dial adorned with diamond indexes. This line skilfully combines modernity with the refinement that defines the brand. Elegant and sleek, this latest creation is both feminine and boldly contemporary.

    Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters

    From 11 to 13 October, the Chinese capital hosted the 2019 edition of the Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters, gathering the best national and international riders in the famous Bird’s Nest. As the Title Partner and the Official Timekeeper of this spectacular event, Longines was delighted to time the remarkable performance of Penelope Leprevost (FR) on Cenai who claimed the Longines Grand Prix, which rounded off the weekend. Daniel Deusser (GER) on Leonidas and Zhang Bin (CN) on Fetti Cash completed the podium. Chinese actress and Longines Ambassador of Elegance, Zhao Liying, who joined the event as a special guest, presented the winner with a Longines timepiece to acknowledge her great victory. The 2019 Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters were a unique opportunity for the brand to highlight the Official Watch of the event, a new model from one of its most emblematic lines, The Longines Master Collection.     Simon Baker discovers the Longines universe in Saint-Imier

    Swiss watchmaking brand Longines was proud to welcome Simon Baker, its Ambassador of Elegance since 2012, to its headquarters in Saint-Imier.   During this very special day, Simon Baker had the opportunity to meet with the employees and to go through the complex process of creating a watch as he visited the production workshops.   After having had his very first cheese fondue in a typical Swiss restaurant, Simon had the pleasure to discover the treasures kept in the brand’s museum, which harbours collections representing all facets of Longines’ rich past.   Delighted to witness the watchmaking expertise and to immerge himself into the brand’s history, Simon Baker commented: “Having been part of the Family for seven years, it is overwhelming to finally be here, it puts a very human quality element to the whole brand that resonates directly in me. Being able to feel the love that the watchmakers have for what they do has been very enlightening and inspiring, it moves the product itself to a richer place.”   Over the course of his visit, Simon Baker was wearing a new all-ceramic version of the HydroConquest collection, which draws its inspiration form the world of aquatic sports.

    Longines FEI Jumping World Cup North American League - Rancho Murieta

    On Saturday 5 October 2019, American rider Cook Karl riding Caillou finished first at the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League in Sacramento, California.  Swail Conor (IRL) on Koss van Heiste finished second ahead of Thomas Guy (NZL) on Jonkheer Z. On Sunday 6 October 2019, American rider Alex Granato riding Carlchen W finished first at the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League in Columbus, Ohio. Compatriots Margie Goldstein-Engle on Dicas finished second ahead pf Nicole Simpson on Akuna Mattata. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League series, Longines was proud to grand elegant Longines timpieces to Cook Karl and Alex Granato as a reward of their great performances.

    On Sunday 6 October 2019, in ParisLongchamp (France), Waldgeist led by Pierre-Charles Boudot crossed first the finishing line of the 2,400-metre Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, rewarding the ten thousands of spectators with a truly thrilling race day.     Longines inaugurates its very first Boutique in Romania

    Strenghtening its presence in Eastern Europe, the Swiss watch brand Longines celebrated today the grand Opening of its very first Boutique in Romania. Located in the famous “Baneasa Shopping City” mall in Bucarest and spread across 39 square meters, the store displays a large selection of Longines timepieces, including the most iconic watches of the brand as well as its latest models.    The inauguration of the Longines boutique took place in the presence of Walter von Känel, Longines President, Arthur Popa, CEO de Baneasa Shopping City, Ionut Tanase, Longines Brand Manager at B&B Collection, Dmitri Dmitriev, Longines’ Regional Sales Manager, and Mr. and Mrs. Binda, owners of the B&B Collection company.     Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf inaugurate Longines’ new sales corner in Las Vegas

    On Wednesday, October 31st, Longines opened its newest shop inside the Las Vegas’ Tourbillon Boutique, located in the CityCenter Complex. Longines’ Ambassadors of Elegance Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf were present to celebrate this particular event in one of Las Vegas most prestigious watch lover’s temple. With this new opening, the brand invites customers to discover Longines elegant collections and exclusive universe, made up of Elegance, Performance and Tradition.   From its very earliest moments, in the 1830’s, Longines has forged strong ties with the United States. Today, the brand counts more than 300 points of sales all over the country. Furthermore, the winged hourglass brand is a trusted partner for many sporting competitions across America, from equestrian events to skiing and gymnastics. Longines has also worked with celebrities who embody brand’s values and image of elegance, including American tennis legend Andre Agassi, who now works to improve access to education and the lives of disadvantaged children through his Las Vegas-based foundation, and Stefanie Graf who works to help children and families who are victims of war, persecution and violence through her Hamburg-based foundation, Children for Tomorrow.   This Wednesday, the owners of the limited “Conquest V.H.P.     Longines is delighted to have honoured the winner of the photo competition la 25ème heure Longines

    Longines this week announced its partnership with Deauville, which also includes a collaboration with the photo competition la 25ème heure Longines. Indeed, the Swiss watch brand is proud and honoured to be the Official Partner of the French seaside resort, which has been decked out with Longines clocks. The latter can be admired along the iconic coastal promenade in front of the famous Planches. Besides, the Swiss watch brand is delighted to have been, for the first time, the Official Partner of the photo competition la 25ème heure Longines. This event, which takes place every year when the clocks go back and invites participants to take a snapshot of the town between midnight and 1am to immortalize this special 25th hour of the day.     On Sunday 28 October 2018, German rider Daniel Deusser and his mount Calisto Blue claimed the third leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM held in Verona. Niels Bruynseels (BEL) on Gancia de Muze took the second place followed by Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs on Clooney 51. As the Title Partner, the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Western European League series, Longines was proud to present the winner with an elegant timepiece as a reward for his great win.
